Just curious- why not pray to God as the bible tells you to?
Do only people who pray to Mary have a special ‘in’ with the Lord? *wink*
I get the most hate-filled comments when I ask...

God bless you, brother. May he enlighten your mind, and kindle a love of holiness in your soul.

BTW, can you name the 15 ( or 20) "Mysteries of the Rosary"? Can you name the Person who is central to them? Can you name the Book from which they were taken?
*wink*

We do. We also have the intercession of the saints.

When we pray to Mary, we are simply asking her to pray to God for us, to intercede for us before the Throne of Grace. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful Mother to help us on our way to heaven.
"Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death."
Of course, we can also pray to God directly. The Catholic Mass, for example, is full of prayers to God the Father, through His Son Jesus Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. The Lord's Prayer is also an important part of every Mass.

However, I believe that Jesus made us his adopted brothers and sisters. Therefore, God is my Father too. He told St. John 'behold your Mother'. So I think I am on the right track in being on good terms with her, as I am with others in the Communion of Saints. I pray the Rosary frequently, and although it's considered a Marian devotion, I consider it to really be about Jesus.
