Mmmm, nothing better than Utah trout, freshly caught. My uncle smokes the trout and we get it as a Christmas gift every year.
Hey, we had fun down your way last week. It was hot hot hot at Bryce, so I didn’t hike as much as I would have liked to. It was beautiful. We also drove to Pine Lake on the way home, that is where we want to go on our next trip. We can camp there, go to Bryce, get off at the Fairyland loop and hike the rim. And we can fish and swim in the lake. It is much more secluded there.

When I was younger, my little family would camp in the Smokies every summer (Elkmont or Smokemont). I would catch trout for my first wife to cook and eat ... I don’t care for the bony little buggers. The cold mountain streams were great in the hot summer and catching the fish was all the more fun. Eventually, I dropped the fishing and played in the creeks with the kids, building stream diversions to raise water flumes for kids to throw themselves through screaming with joy. Ah, the memories

I miss hiking. In South Florida if you step away from civilization and into nature you are in a swamp or in the ocean. I do love the ocean and the sun though. Florida’s only “real” waterfall goes down into a cave. Not much in the way of mountain streams here and the trout are sea trout.
