Even though James may have been the leader of the Jerusalem church, I posted many istances where Peter ranked ahead of Peter. Peter was the first Pope.
Do you want me to post the list of Popes?
When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.
This verse simply says Our Lord gave the responsibility for the care of his mother to his first cousin, John....son of Salome and Zebedee. Salome was Mary's sister. Jesus did not want to give to his own flesh and blood brothers this task as their family relationship.....at the time, was on very shaky ground. [John 7:1-5] Since Joseph was already dead the next closest relative would be a first cousin....if you were presently ignoring your brothers.
Where does it say I'm to call Mary my mother?
Thanks for the compilation.
Oh, and they're just from Iscool's fave-o-rite preacher...the bastion of ignorance who hosts that website...
I wonder if you went to the main page of this author? Catholics aren't the only ones this person despises. Pretty scary stuff there in my opinion.
Some wise words here. thank you.
You don't get this, do you? Where in the Ten Commandments did it say, "Diego1618, thou shalt not steal?"
Prayers for a speedy recovery and first-rate results from the surgery.
And I would remind you that Christ died for Peter too. Don't dismiss him.
I know you do..... and I apologize. I saw your error and took selfish advantage of it. I'm sorry.
I'm gonna try them both on for a while.
**The words of Gabriel that Mary was highly favored by God are the source of the position Catholics give to Mary - however praying to her is a huge red flag to me.**
You are totally correct on the first half of your sentence. We ask Mary to intercede and pray for us. We don't worship her......we just respect and venerate her, and ask her to pray for us.
For example, have you ever asked anyone to pray for you? I bet you have. Same thing.
You are correct....I have not referred to her on this thread as blessed. That, however does not mean that I consider her anything less than blessed. Obviously she has a special place in the heart of any who would follow Her Son. But, that's my point entirely. He is her son.....I am not.
Prayers for a successful healing for your foot.
I have given you Biblical proof. You have given me what you think.
People of every faith are saved if they live sincerely according to their religion.
Beer and bingo haven't been mentioned once, until now.
This is what I love so much about debating you folks. You simply stand for nothing. Your statement included not one reference to Holy scripture as your standard. You only brought up opinions, innuendo and guilt by association....since you evidently believe I'm some kind of Pentecostal.
If you check my posts you will see that I tend to back everything up with scripture. You should develop this good habit.
?

Spare me!
Where in the Ten Commandments does it say...."Eventually you can all ignore the fourth because we'll all be worshiping on the Invincible Day of the Sun".....instead of the Sabbath.
Don't accuse me of law breaking when you folks practice it weekly.
