me: Willfulness.

you: And where does that come from?

God!

The Hebrew terms used for the soul/spirit include:

nephesh - which all life is given in Genesis 1, i.e. the animal soul of a man

neshama - which is the "breath of God" only given to Adamic man in Genesis 2, i.e. the spiritual part of man which animals do not have

ruach - which is the soul of the man (term used throughout the Old Testament.) Jewish teaching is that this is the seat of the free will, man chooses whether to be God-centered (neshama) or earthy/carnal-centered (nephesh). See also Romans 8.

ruach Elohim - the Spirit of God who indwells us Christians (John - esp. 3, 14-17, Romans 8, I Cor 2, etc.)

IOW, willfulness is part of God's creative, permissive will. And predestiny is also His will.

Would Christ have told us to pray "thy will be done" to the Father without meaning?

So is His will more efficacious in some than others?
