From Ekklesia:A seminarian in the US has launched what is believed to be the world's first dedicated matchmaking site for gay Christians.
The site, GayHarmony.net, has been developed by 22 year old Justin R. Cannon for gay Christians looking for a life partner, friendship or even just a Bible study partner.
"Most GLBTQ Christians are excluded from joining Christian personals sites, and gay and other personals sites arent structured to meet their specific needs. The growing gay Christian demographic deserves a welcoming safe place tailored just for us" explains Cannon.
GayHarmony.net emerged out of Cannons own recognition of the lack networking presence on the web for meeting other gay Christians.
[
] GayHarmony.net is believed to be the Internets only devoted gay Christians matchmaking site and already boasts almost 1700 members from more than 50 different countries.
One member raves, Gayharmony.net is awesome! I signed on and found a guy who lives right in my hometown. And the matchmaking service really did help
we have so much in common!
Justin Cannon was raised in the Episcopal Church, and later interest in Catholic, Orthodox, and Quaker theologies led towards an ecumenical perspective that recognizes a deep sense of unity among Christians that transcends the walls of denominations.
He is currently attending seminary at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California (USA) as he pursues priesthood within the Episcopal Church.
Perhaps next year he will be kind enough to launch a website to match Christian drug addicts with Christian pushers.
Pray for the souls of those misled by Mr. Cannon and his friends. May God help those who he may someday be given to pastor, may God help Mr. Cannon, and may God help us all who have helped bring society to this point. Luke 17:2 continually comes to mind these days.
These people are going to burn.
What's up is down and what's down is up
This guy is dancing on the trap door of hell.
Some of these people can't paddle that canoe to hell fast enough.
Practicing unrepentant gays are not Christian.
Be Chrisitan, if you want.
Be Jewish, if you want.
Be Muslim, if you want.
Be gay, if you want.
But do not claim to be two of any of the above because being any one of the above logically excludes being another.
Sorry but those are two words that don't go together. And while I'm at it, there is no such thing as a 'gay' person. There is however a segment of the population who think that it's just fine to engage in perverted sex acts.
The devil is having his way in that church.
Homosexuality and a dedicated Christian are mutually exclusive IMHO.
Those with same sex attraction are called to chastity. Exodus is a good Protestant group and Courage a good Catholic group for those with this condition who wish support in living lives of Christian morality.
Chastity is one thing. What if they desire each other? Look at the entirety of the 10th commandment, a three letter word in particular.
One has a duty to resist temptations to sin. One can't be held accountable for thoughts that come into one's head, but can be held accountable for whether one entertains sinful thoughts.
Too bad the guy couldn't direct his efforts toward recruiting gay muslims.
How many times has "Bishop" Spong patronised them?
