Hindu leader: “CIA wants to convert India to Christianity”

During celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, an extremist paramilitary formation, one of its leaders charged the United States and missionaries with deceitfully bringing Christianity into India.

Delhi (AsiaNews) - K S Sudarshan, leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh [RSS, paramilitary formation of fundamentalist nationalist Hindus, ed.], yesterday accused American Intelligence of seeking to convert India to Christianity with the help of non-governmental organizations.

The leader said: “The CIA [Central Intelligence Agency, ed.] wants to have one Christian church in every post office area. To attain this end, the American President Bush allocated 20 billion dollars.”

Sudarshan made these charges during celebrations marking 100 years since the setting up of the RSS that were held in Madurai.

The leader said: “So NGOs started to build schools, hospitals and public infrastructure only to veer the rural people away from their Hindu moorings.” He added: “Missionaries are also involved in this plan, because they mislead tribals when they say we invaded their land.”

Finally, Sudarshan hit out at Indian Maoists who “just as they did in Nepal, resort to terrorism and attack government offices to demoralize government officials and bring areas under their control.”

And I suppose Congress approved this line item in the budget, too.

There are CIA conspiracists outside of the Democrat Party? Cripes, it's spreading.

“CIA wants to convert India to Christianity"

Part of me wishes that were true.

Then I realize that the CIA would probably mess it up anyway.

Is this plot being carried out by both of the Christians left in CIA, or just one?

Yes we do!

One of the great blessings in my life is to be able to contribute to Gospel For Asia. I see nothing wrong in peacefully bringing the gospel to people who haven't heard it really explained. The persecution that these missionaries go through is unbelievable, but they are winning people over to the TRUTH and that's why they are hated by the Hindu's and muslims.

RSS is the Hindu version of Christian Identity... with a healthy dose of populism thrown in to excite the masses. Their main enemies being Muslims(of course), Christians(especially Hindu converts to Christianity and also western missionaries) and Communists.

Interestingly, although they hate "semitic" religions, they aren't particularly opposed to Jews. Perhaps because firsthand Hindu-Jewish relation was very limited and they mostly know each other from their respective battle against Muslims(the common enemy).

Sudarshan is the guy on the left

A little history. RSS founders

Hedgewar

Gowalkar

I heard RSS supported Germany against the British during WW2.

Converting a couple of hundred starving desperates a year through free lentils isn't "winning people over to the truth" when you consider the other ONE BILLION HINDUS my evangelical friend.

There was a time when the inept CIA was known as "Christians In Action" but that was more-or-less a joke.

And what if they peacefully reject your explanation and tell you to butt out?

Yep, they sent the money in silver denarii to St Thomas personally. Bet you didn't know he really worked for the CIA!

I leave them alone. If it's a public street or square where I am evangelizing I continue on because the other party is free to leave at anytime. People are never going to be receptive to the gospel if coerced.

If the growth of numbers is your best metric then you have problems because the fastest growing numbers (anywhere in the World) are Muslims. Other than that despite 2000 years in India Christianity has only a few million followers. American Capitalism arrived circa 1990 and already has about 500,000,000 and is growing fast!

Dear Fearless Leader,

The CIA doesn't give a whoop about having a "Christian" church in every "post office area" in India.

Some of our government officials don't even want churches in OUR post office areas.

Well, that is an improved strategy over the Cold War strategem of forming a green line of Islam between the USSR and its highly sought after warm water ports. IMHO, 9/11 was only part of divine discipline for that New World Order blunder.
