When Jesus first called Andrew, Peter, James and John He called them to leave their nets and follow Him i.e. to leave the past behind or as Bonhoeffer said "when Jesus calls, He bids you come and die". What did Peter do, when he figured Jesus left, he went back to his old life, fishing. When Jesus caught him fishing he still could not leave everything he loved behind and used the same word for love that he would use for his things until finally Jesus embarrassed him in front of his friends and he finally confessed. Even then he was told to mind his own business.

So, we can safely ignore Peter's letters that are in the New Testament?
Who, do you think, the sheep were in John 21?
