O Lord,
this day we commend to you in a special way,
our brother Paul
as he lays near that transition zone
between life and death,
with a frail heart
in need of your strong hand.
Be with the doctors who are caring for him
in a special way,
and guard their decisions,
guide their hands,
and direct their footsteps.
Be with each of his family,
with everyone who loves him
who worries for him
who cares,
and give them the peace
that can only come from you.
O Lord,
we do not know what you have planned for Paul,
but we know it is in your hands,
that the very hairs of our heads are numbered,
and that you are with us, each and every step of the way.
Lord, we do ask that you heal him
if it is your will,
and bring us home with you at last.

Heavenly Father, I join my sisters and brothers in Christ as we lift up to You prayers for Paul. Dear Father, give the doctors and nurses the wisdom needed to heal him.
Dear Father, we pray for Paul's family as well. Give them comfort and peace as they tend to his needs.
