**This is a big problem. First, we need all those who would teach to be on the same page.**
We can be! How many of us even know that there is a Catechetical Directory??
Call or email the Center for Ministry Development.

Luther said the same thing many years ago!
They got upset because he attempted to set off alarm bells!
Damn those pesky alarm bells!
Such is the life of ignorant catholics!
Ignorance is BLISS!

Well, there you have it - '72. '68-'72 was pretty much the middle of the Kinsey-inspired, Rockerfeller-funded, masonic-manipulated sexual revolution and population control hysteria. While the Church failed in America during that period due to radical neo-modernism and a number of other factors, American Catholics - as Americans - got sucked into the ridiculous social engineering of the period - which all tended in the opposite direction from Catholic orthodoxy.
What diocese was this in? At which college or university did you study Catholicism at that time? (just curious)
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
When I went to a Baptist Bible college they spent more time telling us what the Catholics believe than what we did! :-) I suppose they thought we should already know!
Go figure.

I made the decision to put Jesus above the religion of man!
Ah, so you came back to the Catholic Church? (You know, the one Christ founded) Excellent!

Considering what I've heard people have been taught in such schools, you probably did not learn anywhere close to reality what Catholics believe. The more I learn about my faith, the more I see how badly we were formed and how easily so many have been seduced by people who are more ignorant than those who do the seducing.

I have volunteered to be part of the Religious Education committee at my very liberal parish. I have a 1912 Baltimore Cathechism. What else would you suggest I bring into this group in the fall?

I would take three or four copies of this article from Commonweal to the meeting. Commonweal,America and the National unCatholic Reporter wield a lot of influence with liberals. What you say will get more "respectful" attention if you back it up with articles printed in the publications that have formed their religious worldview.
Good luck!!This is how we will bring back the Church---one class of well catechised kids at a time.

LOL...I never said College or University, I said 12 years in catholic schools. Grade school, high school in Tulsa Ok.

Thanks, I will take the articles.
I volunteered to be an assistant this year in my daughter's first grade class. It took until after Christmas for them to cover anything Catholic. I complained to my Presbyterian hubby that it is ridiculous to pay 100.00 to send her to CCD when we can get the same for free at the Sunday School classes at the local Lutheran church.
He stated that if I wanted things to change, I would have to do it myself. I'm going to try!

I agree. As I said earlier, I have learned more here about what the RCC teaches then I ever did in school. The problem is very very few Catholics (I think they are all on this forum:) themselves know what the RCC teaches. When you listen to the average Catholic talk about what they beleive, it seems to pretty much go along with the misconceptions that most people have about the RCC. It would be interesting to know Why so many of the teachers of RCC theology are such bad teachers of it. Is there any agenda to do this on purpose? has bad teaching just been snowballing since the beginning? Etc...

To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Becky,
I would say it is a combination of the two. Some teachers out there certainly have an agenda, others, just don't know cause they themselves weren't taught, and as a result, it spirals to the present state. Something like only 25% of Catholics under 30 believe in Jesus Christ's Bodily Resurrection from the Grave. I read a statistic like that, and we have a serious problem.
God Bless

Hi heretic.
Where have you been? I have not read your lies and ignorant words for sometime now.
