There are many Catholic bashing sites on the Internet and I have been on many of them. I have been apologetic for the Church because of mis-informed opinions. In the majority of anti-Catholic treads, I have quoted Scott Hahn's statements and I have yet to read a response to what Mr. Hahn presents. It seems to leave the respondent at a loss for answers.

Too many anti-apologests live by the one verse answers syndrome. All they have to do is read before and after these verses to put the whole text in perspective.

Regarding a female satan Gibson has said that satan comes as somewhat of an attractive tempress. My own opinion is that Gibson and Caviezel are both dedicated to the Blessed Mother. You will notice satan and Mary dressed similarly.

The scene with the baby is text book for Madonna and Child depicted by Raphael.

And less we forget, Luther and Calvin did not walk away form the Church, They were excommunicated.

Luther thought so highly of the Catholic faith, he continued using the Catholic Bible. He said it was the truth so let us keep it.

My information did not come from a Catholic "bashing" site. My reference came from a Catholic site by a Catholic. If you favor Scott Hahn position over Bob Sungenis that’s OK. As I said in post #14 there apparently are two sets of opinions here. It’s difficult to know which is true.

I know the Catholics are very sensitive. I research EVERYTHING and when I disagree with a Catholic post I try to use either a Catholic or a neutral source. Even with a neutral source many of our Catholic friends here still consider it Catholic “bashing”. This is the first time I used a Catholic source and had this reaction.

Yes, Luther and Calvin might have been excommunicated but I'm sure they were aware of it. But I don't see the point.

There are probably just as many Protestant “bashing” sites as there are Catholics. Occasionally articles like this are posted “bashing” Luther or Calvin or someone else. Generally, its by someone who has “seen the light” and join “the true church” because of blah, blah, blah. And from Post #2 it does seem to confirm the purpose of this testimony. I personally think this is a good thing and is how we grow by challenging each other. (I spent weeks researching various positions on the Eucharist.)

There are a number of people who join the Catholic church while there are probably just as many who leave to join a Protestant denomination. I don’t have the statistics in front of me. I’m sure I could find a testimony by a Protestant who converted from Catholicism and how wrong the Catholics are.

It APPEARS based upon a Catholic source and verified by non-Catholic sources, that Dr. Scott Hahn seems to be a “flake”. Whether this is true or not I don’t know. What’s disappointing is that Catholics seem to wily nily jump on this as some Protestant who saw the light rather than looking at this person with a more critical eye. Judging from some of the comments posted here that appears to be the case.

Quite right. Luther's reformation DID clean up the corruption that crept into the church and even Catholics acknowledge that the Chruch has emerged stronger because of it. I only wish he had reformed, purified the church from the inside instead of splitting it up and allowing propagandaists ON BOTH sides to separate the church.
