It went over like a porkchop in a synagogue. :-)

May YHWH continue to guide you through the changes in your life and lead you safely up every path.

I will now begin the process of conversion to Judaism. I don't yet know which kind. May God strengthen you all in your quest for truth as well.

Steven, I wish you the best in your quest for truth. Always allow YHWH to speak to you and draw you close. Obviously, I am not in complete agreement with the change you are making but I'm not silly enough to think my words will change anything. I truly can say, even though we've exchanged some less-than-friendly words, that I care for you.

C.S. Lewis said that the man who seeks peace will never find it, but the man who seeks truth will find both truth and peace. And that is all any of us can wish for.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

On August 27, 1998, indigenous Catholics in Mitziton, Chiapas, took 23 evangelicals hostage and threatened to eject them from the community if they did not convert to Catholicism. Catholic and state authorities intervened to obtain their release. In addition, a number of Catholic churches were burned in Chiapas, but the authorities made no arrests.

Hatemongers are known for not bothering to read and understand the stuff they post with glee.

If it's the evil Catholics who are responsible for this violence, why are the Cathoic Churches being burned and why were the Catholic authorities involved on the side of the "good?"

Stupid hatemongers.

Like Democrats arguing both for and against strong actions against terrorism (taking Bush to task for not doing before 9/11 what they simultaneously criticise him doing after), the only possible solution to this ethnic violence would be for the Catholic Church to come down, and come down hard on these Indians who profess the faith and yet act in primitive ways. But if the Catholic Church did exactly that, you same hatemongers would raise the alarms about how oppressive and powerful the Church is.

Hypocrites and ignorant. And willfully so.

Good for you. It must be liberating to finally be off the fence. It is much more intellectually clearer and defensible to simply embrace Judaism, if that is what you are feeling called to.

And just in time for Passover tonight.

Yeah, and Protestants in Ireland jeer little Catholic schoolgirls. It's little to do with religion. What a hatemonger you are.

Good morning oh enlightened one.

Since your decision to deny Christ has to have been made with out the aid of God’s Spirit since it was never sent to mankind until Christ returned to His Father, then your decision is based solely on your own intellect, and not that of the indwelling Spirit.

That could explain why you have been involved in four different faiths in the 4 years I’ve know you.

What if there were lurkers who thought everything you said made sense, and so they joined the different faiths you were promoting at the time?

Should they now be considering Judaism? Are they to follow you as you go through your mid life faith crisis? How’s about your family, if they are permanently turned off at God because of what you have put them through, are you responsible?

This is not a personal attack, it’s just questions I’d be asking myself if it were me who had made all these changes in such a short time.

Because we are all baptized into Christ, every person who is united with him in faith can also claim for themselves the title "servant of the Lord."

Monday of Holy Week
First Reading:
Psalm:
Gospel:
Isaiah 42:1-7
Psalm 27:1-3, 13-14
John 12:1-11

If by a diligent life of virtue, you wash away the film of dirt that covers your heart, then the divine beauty will shine forth in you.

 -- St. Gregory of Nyssa

The following is, as usual, from The Word Among Us:

Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights. (Isaiah 42:1)

Who is this "servant"? Of course we can say it is Jesus, but that's not the only answer. Because we are all baptized into Christ, every person who is united with him in faith can also claim for themselves the title "servant of the Lord." Every one of us is God's chosen, and he delights in every single one of us.

As comforting as these words sound, there is also a challenge in them. God has "taken us by the hand," not just for our sakes but for the sake of the world around us. Just as he called Jesus, so he now calls us to establish "justice in the earth" and to be a "light to the nations." (Isaiah 42:4,6).

How can God expect this of us? Sometimes, it seems a major struggle simply to establish justice in our own hearts, let alone in the lives of those around us. But this is exactly why the Lord has given us his Holy Spirit (Isaiah 42:1). Filled with divine confidence and strength, every member of the body of Christ can make a difference.

What will this "justice" look like? Put simply, it will look like the human life of Jesus. It means treating the most neglected members of society with tenderness and respect (Isaiah 42:3). It means walking into the lonely prison of a homebound neighbor and taking her on a rare outing (42:7). It means not calling attention to ourselves but quietly doing an honest day's work and refusing to participate in workplace gossip or crooked practices (Isaiah 42:2). It means speaking up for the poor, the unborn, and the victimized. It means pouring ourselves out for the materially, emotionally, and spiritually poor, knowing that we are anointing the feet of the Master (John 12:1-8). And finally, it means not expecting to see the final results of our labors but working patiently and waiting upon the Lord to act in his own time (Psalm 27:14).

"Lord, you are 'my light and my salvation,' so I refuse to be afraid. Yes, I am assailed by 'adversaries and foes'--including my own doubts and limitations. Yet I know that they will ultimately 'stumble and fall' and that I will see your goodness here in the land of the living!" (Psalm 27:1,2,13).

----------

God bless.

AC

What can I say except that I'm saddened and will continue to pray for you? I read the last series "Glorious Appearance" (?) this weekend and was going to see if you wanted to discuss it today. After "Passion" I looked at it different. I had concerns about Jesus' dialog. Oh well.

Well, I must say that RnMom was wrong on this one. She thought it would take you a whole year to come to deny the whole New Testament.

Psalm 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

I had to drive thru that storm yesterday. It started raining around Comfort. By San Antonio it was raining hard. Fortunately the traffic was light and people driving were cautious. I only saw about 4 fenderbenders :') :'(
Around the outer loop on 37 it was storming. At one point we were down to about 5 MPH. I could not see from one white line to the next. I couldn't pull over. Couldn't see the shoulder and didn't want to get broadsided. Everyone just hugging the center line. It was like I was in water. It looked like waves coming straight across. It finally eased up a little and we stopped at a closed station. (2 grandsons with me). When things slowed down I headed out again. Good thing too because the feeder lane very long and starting to pond. Probably 20 miles down the road it stared again. I got off the FW once more.. Cars parked everywhere. A worker outside and told me to park behind the building because a hail storm about 10 miles out and coming and a tornado spotted. I asked if I should keep going and he said "you going south? It's drivable. Get out of here!" So I started back out in the rain. I fought it until about Oak (something). Then it was just light rain and lots of lightening and wind.
Funny thing though. After we were out the 4 y/o said "granny, why is your hair standing up?" They both have buzz cuts and looked fine. I felt my hair. I'm naturally curly (thank goodness for straighteners) and my hair was frizzed. After we were home it was fine. Guess lots of static in the air.

My bet is that, within the next year, you decide that Talmudic Judaism is also wrong. Can't wait to see if you fall before Baal & Ashteroth first, or just take the plunge and jump right into Moloch worship.
