Here are the some of the results of a 1999 Gallup poll on creationism, evolution, and public education :
49% believe that human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life.
Evolution theory is the most important weapon to twist people's minds.
For 99% of the people the most important REAL reason for believing in it : a trick that costed a few bucks, 100 years ago.
Even more incredible : the trick has remained the same until now.
Only lately, with very fast computers that allow virtual reality software to perform convincing enough, have we seen some effects added to the base trick.
I wonder who is the first Freeper to find out the trick behind the most devastating lie in the history of mankind.

Is it anything like the trick where by treating the Bible too literally people become self-righteous, closed-minded, self-appointed arbiters of truth?

... the most devastating lie in the history of mankind. Evolution? The most devastating lie in history?
Even it were a lie, I don't see how anyone could come to that conclusion.
I figured the most devastating lie in history would be "I'm from the government; I'm here to help you". After all, variations of that lie killed over 100 million people in Communist countries in the 20th century.
How many people have died because they believed in evolution? Or is it your contention that people who believe in evolution go to Hell?

If you are incapable of handling basic English, you'll have a lot of trouble convincing anyone that anything you have to say has any merit.

I think the Genesis creation account is really too generous. Personally, I think he did it all at once in an instant. But then again, the FACT that God created the heavens and the earth is the point of the story, not how long he took to do it.

"How many people have died because they believed in evolution?"
One could make the strong argument that Communist states would not have been able to kill 100 million people in the 20th century if they had not believed in evolution, and the attendant atheist state that came with it.
For example, peacenik lefties love to point to Ghandi as the role model of all political activism. The truth is, the only reason Ghandi's tactics worked was because the British, because of their religious beliefs, were not amoral nor atheist enough to kill them all.
Now if Ghandi had tried his trick on atheist Stalin, Stalin would have smiled, given Ghandi the Order of Lenin for making his job so easy, and then bulldozed the entire area where Ghandi had so conveniently gathered all his critics.
