Who is the other color man? Big mouth McCarver hasn't let him say a thing all night.

Matsui beat the relay. The umps have 8 p.m dinner, billiards and dancing reservations at "The Rack". This game is getting the bum's rush.

Sounds good. Good luck on your plan. I've lost close to 90 pounds myself on a low-carb plan and I'm still going. My wife was good enough to make me a swiss cheese and mushroom omelette during the game.

Well one down already and Ortiz at the plate with a 2-0 count. Lines a hard drive down the 1st base line (in foul territory) and the first baseman snags it. Nice play. Sox down to their final out.

Well, it's not as if the Sox didn't have their chances. They left runners on base in key situations and grounded into two killer double plays when they could have scored more runs.

It's a 2-1 game lead for the Yanks and they are in the driver's seat. Don't count the Sox out yet as they came back from a 2-0 game deficit against the A's but they've got to win tomorrow in my opinion.

I had to leave for work at 6 o'clock this morning, but before I did, I checked the FR thread and saw someone's funny Atari-like "Cubs Win" graphic. It was a great way to start the day.

That was a bang-up double play to end the inning. One thing I notice on these DP's is that the second basemen often only straddles the bag instead of touching it. My wife and I always argue about whether it is legal or not. I say it is allowed so that the second basemen can avoid injury (by the runner sliding in) and my wife says that runner should be safe in those situations.

When you straddle the 2nd base bag, your inner part of your feet are touching the bag and its legal. But sometimes in the pros they get away of not touching the bag but were 'in the area' close enough to get the call.

2nd basemen and Shortstops are told to hop up after the throw to avoid the charging runner.

these boston folks: team, fans, groundskeepers, all of them. they need to realize that getting the Yankees angry is not the way to beat them, it just makes them play harder. best to keep things calm and beat them in the game.

Rumors of Rivera's demise were a bit pre-mature, apparently.

Yanks win.

I don't get Fox so I'm not watching, but if McCarver is on, I'm glad I don't. I can't freaking stand McCarver.

I'm extremely happy to see Martinez get tagged with the 'L' today. Would still have liked to see him tagged by Karim.
