They're in a rare mood hugh. Gotta love it. Schwarzenegger may be no Ronald Reagan, but I can't remember being this happy since Reagan. I guess it was close watching Gore lose his bid to steal the election, but by the time he finally gave up, I was worn out. I was just glad to have it over with. Then again I was happy when we won the Gulf War, and when our guy did well in the current Gulf engagement, but RR was special for me.

It's hard to imagine someone like Ah-nold or even Reagan getting elected in any other country. In most countries, only long-serving members of the political establishment ever get elected. Having a rank outsider win and punch the established barnacle-encrusted status quo is one of the great strengths of our country. Even the election of Jesse Ventura served a purpose -- it let the two major parties in the state know that they had become too complacent and too detached from the voters.

They are in a rare mood is right. Was living in CA when Reagan was elected and was so happy when he gave his acceptance speech. I remember having tears in my eyes sitting in the family room watching him speak! I was so happy! I feel so great that a Republican is going to be Governor of California.
