It's hard to imagine someone like Ah-nold or even Reagan getting elected in any other country. In most countries, only long-serving members of the political establishment ever get elected. Having a rank outsider win and punch the established barnacle-encrusted status quo is one of the great strengths of our country. Even the election of Jesse Ventura served a purpose -- it let the two major parties in the state know that they had become too complacent and too detached from the voters.

I do believe this can be a problem in the wierd odd occassion, but I agree with your comments and the idea behind them. Good call.
