I think Issa is the big winner behind the scenes on this one.

CBS News on Tuesday night reported that 69 percent of a sample of voters interviewed after they cast their ballots said they had made up their minds weeks ago. Some political observers saw this as an indication that recent charges that Schwarzenegger sexually harassed women did not have a major impact and that voters were more worried about the state of California's economy under incumbent Davis.
I heard this on the radio. CBS is already trying to make excuses. They are going to say if this information was out there 3 weeks before the election then people might have changed their minds. The liberals are going to have a tough time explaining Republicans won 64% of the vote in one of the MOST LIBERAL STATES IN THE NATION.

That means some people voted against recall and then voted for either Arnold or McLintock. I assume most of those were for Arnold.

Too bad for California.

No, they can't handle a fair fight. If they could, they would've conceded Florida after the hand recount that Gore shouldn't have even got. And now, they will attempt the same crap in Cali...and throw in some specious law suits from anonymous sources. It should be clear that the Democrat Party is void of any ideas. I've really noticed a sense of desperation from all wings of the Democrats...crossing into the media, and even sports with the attacks on Rush. I've never heard it so shrill as I have in the last several months. This would also explain the timed attacks on prominent Republcans, that will no doubt only increase with this victory. Hopefully, the rest of America will see what we have known for decades.

That is a great observation!
I just hope that those on FR who have had their differences can shake hands and look to the future of bringing conservative ideals to California.
Everyone's a winner if the numbers stay at their current levels.

We need McClintock to run against Boxer in 2004. You're reading my mind, brother. Because this race didn't get nasty, Arnold will be able to come out and send this apparent legion of new voters he's brought in out for Tom, and do that with total credibility.

I don't want to continue the divisive arguments, but your statement was more than I could stand.Exactly! Glad you did. Some comments on here are ridiculous and untrue once again!

If this gets contested AGAIN because of 'disenfrachising' someone as has been tried over and over and over again BEFORE the election, then it's time for some serious public demonstrations. This cannot stand. We obeyed the law in the California constitution which allows a recall, and against all odds got the signatures, got out the vote, fought the legal challenges beforehand, NO PROBLEMS reported at the polls - to undermine this really is the end of government 'by the people'. It's purely a tyranny by the black robes and I would hate to be on the court who overturns it.

Don't be so hard on the Leftists, my friend. By such an outrageous move, they probably helped Arnold gain 3%. And, as a fringe benefit, many more people now understand the hypocrisy and Leftist bias of the media. I, for one, plan to send them a thank you letter. LOL!!!
To: concerned about politics
LA County Registrar and others from around CA say very few problems and no one standing in line in the inner cities -- very few voters at all in the inner city.

I wish Arnold the very best of luck. He'll need it, dealing with that rat's nest in Sacramento. I hope he surrounds himself with competent, knowledgeable people like Tom and others who know the budget inside and out. He has been entrusted with a huge responsibility. I hope he realizes this.
