"As to The National Enquirer article, I read it. And I found it to be credible..."

I have yet to hear how someone can take, on average, 66 oxycodone pills per day for over a year. I talked to a pharmacist. He said there was NO WAY that he could even function, if he managed to survive that many drugs.

Sorry, but I don't find that very credible.

You are assuming that he actually took 66 pills a day. An addict is always worried about the next fix, and if he has the money, he will make sure he has a large stash just in case the pipeline suddenly goes dry (i.e., the supplier gets busted). Also, many oxy addicts don't take the drug in pill form, but rather grind the pills into powder and snort them in order to negate the time releasors in the pill, with the result being a more intense high. The dosage for the drug in pill form vs. powder is not 1:1, meaning that several pills might be ground up into powder for a single "fix."

Rush has two problems, his weight and hearing.

Anyone that can decipline himself to lose 100lbs and stay there, can do the same with pain killers.

He's at the top of his game, no way is he doped up.

Looks like they're trying to take him down on a technicality.

I have known people who got hooked on prescription pain killers over the years. One thing that most of them had in common was wanting to maintain their supply. Someone who is buying an average of 66 pills a day is not necessarily taking that many every day, but is likely building up a stash so that they don't have to make as many purchases. Time will tell as to whether or not any of this is true.

Assuming he was buying that many pills, nothing indicates he was using that many daily. I've had a close friend who was a pill addict. From that experience I'd say it's more likely that he was stockpiling pills so he'd always be assured of having some.

It's silly to take the number of pills he bought, divide it by a certain number of days and conclude from that he's used X number of pills per day.

I have read a number of times on these threads that Rush would be taking about 60-70 pills a day based on the number purchased. Does anyone realize that pills have a shelf life? Just because you are buying them buy the thousands doesn't mean you are taking dozens per day. If you can get a large quantity in one purchase that might last a few years, why not do that, instead of many small purchases that increase the chances of getting caught in a sting? Not really important, but a little bug-a-boo of mine that I haven't seen anyone point out. I also believe Rush is innocent. I was very upset about this the day it came out until I heard it was reported by the NE!
