Well, I held my breath and ventured over to DU just to see what was up. They have a featured forum on the CA election and this is the statement that greeted me there:
Democratic Underground does not exist to to provide a platform for our political opponents or their supporters, especially this close to an election. If our members want to listen to Republican spin, they can turn on the television. But they don't expect to see it on this message board.
If you support this ridiculous power-grab against the democratically elected Governor of California, then you should do all of us a favor and keep that particular opinion to yourself.
Even if you swear that you're going to vote against the recall, we still have no interest in hearing how you "admire" our opponents or how you feel "ashamed" about attacks against them.
The moderators have the authority to keep DU free from right-wing spin this close to an election.

What is the DU and does anyone have a link to it???It is the intenet's equivalent of an open sewer.
Except an open sewer actually removes "stuff" from an area...

Are we going to start a flame war? What will this accomplish? NOTHING! The ballots are already being cast! Thus my suggestion that we give the bickering a rest, for today at least. Prior to the election, there was at least some value in trying to convince others to adopt a particular position in order to try to achieve the best results. Tomorrow we can do the post-mortem and finger-pointing with hard data. Today, nothing is to be gained by back-biting from any side. Let's just sit back with a bowl of popcorn and watch the show, nothing we do will change the results (although of course the California Freepers should *vote* before they relax).

I am no longer a California resident (I was for 43 years) but I will be moving back there in 3 (my wife is still a captive there and she can't leave just yet).
I just can't see McClintock voters going, one way or the other, for Grayout Davis. That is just assinine.

The denizen LW fruitloops of DUmmyland are already ranting and moaning about CNN and Chris Matthews whoring for Arnold.
"cnn and their ilk are the lowest form of treasonist nuclear fallout.I want them all, someday, to be indicted for their part in the crimes against humanity perpetrated on Iraq."
"It seems to be obvious that CNN wants Schwarzenegger to win
They have cameras camped outside his polling place, wwhich looks a mansion, and all they talk about is the Schwarzenegger campaign. Enough is enough! There are other people running and they barely get mentioned. C'mon CNN, where the hell is fair and balanced? I have absolutely no use for McClintock, but at least he seems to be true to his beliefs. And what happened to Bustamante? We'll never know by watching CNN."
" It seems to be obvious that CNN wants Schwarzenegger to win" You just now noticed this? Judy Woodruff (can I call her the "C" word, ladies) is so blatently pro Gropenführer that she desperately wants to be felt up by the black 'roids ploughman."

"Fox just reported HISTORICAL RECORD NUMBER at the polls! BIG WOOPI! WHAT ARE THE EXIT POLLS?!! DANG IT! "
I find the lack of exit poll reporting very heartening. Usually means the (R) is winning big...

The reporters are where the story is.... The press knows the polls... they know McClintocks just an also ran who never had a chance... sorry guys, thats reality.

Ambrose here is trying to avoid overconfidence on our part cause its his experience the Rats cheat to win. And he's right! They do it every time. That is the only reason I think the first question will be close...because I know the RATS will cheat. But I still think it will win by 4-5%, even after the cheating.

California witnesses the largest fraud ever in a democracy (prophetic)
Polls : Polls help scripts come true. Example : "43% want to keep Davis" (SURVEY USA, 10/6/03) .
Facts about Davis rallies : Davies is not able to gather anything that even slightly resembles a crowd in his rallies. For instance a total of 35 supporters showed up to hear Davis at Long Beach. From footage I estimate that there were no more than 300 people at his final rally.
Facts about the electoral process : machines
(Touch-Screen) to make even the most unbelievable of scripts come true
Prediction : we are about to witness the largest electoral fraud that ever took place in a democracy.
Explanation : the last minute stories will be used to justify the "results". But I also think that it is the tacit acceptance of such polls that lays the basis for the coming fraud counting the votes.
Question : Schwarzenegger is not that different from Davies. So what's the reason for the Democrats to push the fraud to this extent ?

If you support this ridiculous power-grab against the democratically elected Governor of California, then you should do all of us a favor and keep that particular opinion to yourself. So if you're a Democrat that thinks Davis is a scumbag but supports the election of Bustamante, the DUh-ers will ban for for being a right-winger?

11382. No vote cast in the recall election shall be counted for any candidate unless the voter also voted for or against the recall of the officer sought to be recalled. Oh NO! This means that all of the voters who cannot read will be dis-enfranchised! The Horror!
I'm sure the lawsuits have been readied for takeoff.

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." - Josef Stalin Yep, and I read where "some" precincts want to hold the ballots overnight. They'll count them tomarrow.
My question is - who will be guarding them until tomarrow?
