Hmmmm...you aren't usually that gullible. I'm not gullible on this. I said earlier in the thread that I don't believe a word of this bullsh**... I still don't! I had forgotten that Rush was already scheduled to speak in Philadelphia today at that (radio?) convention/event.

Bill Handel just said he's a former cocaine addict and that he went through rehab.

Rush talked about when they were trying to stop the progression of the hearing loss, he was on high doses of steroids which made him nauseous, bloated and, at least temporarily, have diabetic-type problems.
P.S. What's with all these "Internal Server Error" Messages? Sorry about any double posts, FR isn't working too well this morning...

My heart is breaking. It sounds totally credible. Totally credible?? I am reading the same thing and thinking there is no way. It is totally juvenille, and seems to me to be highly made up.
I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out he had her pick up the prescription for him, and that is what she is calling "supplying him".
And that bit about hiding them under the mattress so that Marta wouldn't find them. Like she wouldn't know if he were taking that many.
O come on!!

That explains Handel. :) Never trust a lawyer (pronounced liar), especially around drugs.

If you read the article carefully it sounds like pure fiction.'She wore a wire and gave the tapes to authorities'What she taped him on her own?Parking lot drug deals,e-mails stating"I'll try and cut down".This almost sounds like a hoax or a really pissed off ex-employee.

If it turns out that Rush has been hooked on OxyContin, I hope this gets a full airing.
My naive thought is that Rush might have succumbed to the drug due to cumulative factors:
1. Lots of dental work (he often used to mention this on the radio), so maybe he had some
dental discomfort that was not treated well by his dentists.
2. Loss of hearing: I've know a number of people in the deaf community...drug use seemed
to be a big higher that what I saw in the hearing community (although my sample size
is limited).
3. Availability and means to buy
4. M.D.s may have been a bit too unimaginative in treating any perceived pain
that Rush may have complained about.
5. Rush simply fell due to being human; if so, I hope he finds his way home and shares
his tale of descent and renewal.
These are just naive speculations.
My best hope is that Rush isn't involved in any way, shape or form.

Watch for the next shoe to drop ......and I would guess it will be directed at discediting Fox News. They've already neutralized FNC by dictating the news they report.
Another shoe will drop... but I don't have the slightest clue what it may be. We're dealing with gangsters here. Expect the worst.

It's not hard to believe. And it doesn't make him an "immoral hypocrite," as the media nuts are so quick to declare. Addiction is addiction.
He has advocated tough prison sentences for those people using illegal drugs. If he was in fact using drugs illegally but somehow declares that he himself shouldn't have to go to prison, then I think that would make him a hypocrite.

Is it over-simplifying to say that a drug dealer has outed Rush?

from FNC "The investigation apparently began as a probe into the illegal sale of prescription painkillers in South Florida that targeted dealers. But later investigators came across Limbaugh through clues gathered in a bust a Palm Beach County (search) in May, revealing him as a buyer."
Earlier on TV, Shep said that "multiple" sources in law enforcement have confirmed this notion that "Limbaugh had multiple dealers" for the stuff.

Addicts often have poor judgment or act irrationally, taking irrational risks. The risk is a far secondary concern to simply getting the drug however they can get it.

yeah and her story seems childishly silly on its face, to me. But parts of it are potentially starting to pan out.

Of course AOL has this story -- along with an unbecoming photo of Rush -- right on the front page that all AOL suscribers see as soon as they sign on.

The statement on rushlimbaugh.com isn't really all that reassuring...God touch Rush in a mighty way, I pray.
Either way, it's time to come to Jesus.
