There was NO reason to bring up the media issue and McNabb's color. It's a FOOTBALL show, Which raises the question of why they hired Rush Limbaugh at all. Clearly, hiring entertainers of any stripe to comment on football doesn't work. It should be left to sports broadcasters and analysts. Rush makes his living giving monologues that tweak liberal conventions. Of course he would do that on ESPN. It's what he does.

BULLS*%T!! WHAT did he say that was so stupid??? I am proud of Rush for standing up for what is true--black quarterbacks are the darlings of the media, and no matter if they CHOKE or not, they are not held to the same standards as the white QBs!
And speaking of media darlings...how about the issue of black coaches: team owners HAVE to interview at least one black coach for a head coaching position whether they want to (or feel they are qualified) or not! What kind of crap is THAT???
To: Bubbette
No disagreement here. In fact, what he said was a lot of intelligent people say all the time, and without a single tinge of racial animosity in our being. I played in that world back when it was pretty racist. There is absolutely affirmative action for black QBs in the NFL and the communist-guilted, white male eunichs in the sports press on the coasts DO have a lot of hope invested in this social engineering. McDumba** certainly is WAY overhyped and overextended on his 'benefit of the doubt' account.

I don't care if Kordell Stewart is black, an alien, has four eyes or is Gandalf the Wizard...I could be a better QB than him and I never played the game.

You are right, except they are 1-2 not 0-3. The game vs New England there were as many drops as wormburners.

Rush did discuss the forced job interviews for black coaches on the his very first ESPN showSo he is obviously fixated on race then. Interesting!!

Didn't the Southern Sluts call out an American war-time POTUS from foreign soil? And didn't the American consumers say 'play it, but we're listening to something else in the meantime'?
Did you have problems with the square, round and triangle pegs and their corresponding holes as a child too?

Actually McNabb is a good guy. If one thing Syracuse Football produces, if not a lot of national champions, is class acts. Daryl Johnston, Marvin Harrison, Dwight Freeney, Donovan. All great people.
Donovan has given back a lot to the University and actually is on the Board of Trustees.

I HATE THEM ALL!!I sometimes feel the same way but I don't want to give into my emotions and allow hate to take over. This is what THEY (the low lifes)do and I refuse to bend to their level.
Our Commander in Chief sets a shining example for the good people in this country and in the world. He responds to hatered and evil with love and compassion. I strive to follow his example and keep the faith.
Good will eventually triumph over evil. The war rages on but the battle has already been won.
God Bless

What a canard. I can see those two brain cells you have huffing and puffing.
To bring up the idea as valid for commentary and then using that idea to twist the knife is Carvillian...nice work.

...oh He did? What a big loss...He should've known to control his self aggrandizing hyperbola of knowitall and best.
It does not work in the real world. Sorry Rush, I do not feel for you, paisano, you lost it.
The Golden Microfone and Attila the chair took you out the realm of reality.
Rush, at times, based on your position, it is recommendable to do a reality check, before engaging in a new project. That will save some face...and unwanted embarasement!

""Crap. It was an opinion nothing more. So you've bought into the PC scum pond? Isn't it time we grab our "free speech" back and flip the thought police off? Americans are now inflicted by this sludge, "better not say this or that". It's time we grabbed our right to free speech and F the libs and their PC. Why do we cow tow to them? Time to fight the b**tards and tell them to ShutTheFU.""
Well said, I can only add injury to the insults levied, and it would be my pleasure (duty?) to do so.

Rush didn't say anything about race with regard to this particular player's ability. He merely pointed out that the sports media sometimes have race in mind above other things. As someone pointed out, rush did talk about the forced interviews for head coaching jobs based on race on his first appearance on that NFL pregame show. So if anyone has race on their minds, it's obviously Rush.
He's right about that, and his resignation points that out in spectacular fashion.
His resgination points out that people took great offense with his claim that McNabb is only considered good because he is black.

This quote by ESPN, to me, shows Rush was fired:
"Although Mr. Limbaugh today stated that his comments had 'no racist intent whatsoever,' we have communicated to Mr. Limbaugh that his comments were insensitive and inappropriate. Throughout his career, he has been consistent in his criticism of the media's coverage of a myriad of issues," the statement read.

I don't feel sorry for Rush. He would be the last one to want our sympathy. I just don't think it was right that it ended this way. It wasn't a racist statement. All this does is prove that the liberals still own the media.

Thanks...my mistake. I knew Philadelphia was winless until the Buffalo game and I didn't realize they had a bye week so assumed 0-3 instead of 0-2 before.
