This isn't nearly as terrible as Madelaine Toogood swatting her brat in a parking lot.

After all, the media gave us wall-to-wall 3D video documentation of that.

Of Mugabe they give us nothing.

If they don't show it on TV, it ain't happening.

Saw this one coming a mile away. It started to happen in Nicaragua, too - what is essentially a parasitical kleptocracy masquerading as an attempt to "redistribute" wealth in a more equitable manner under the banner of "social justice" has run out of things to steal in the countryside and has moved on to where the wealth is concentrated, the city.

What happens typically in this scenario is that organizations entrusted with law enforcement find that they cannot function against the thieves, and inasmuch as they are the other people in the country with guns and organization, join them. South Africa is still plagued with this. It happened in post-Soviet Russia. The longer Mugabe's games go on the more likely it will take his country down with him when he goes.

Just another "triumph" for the notion that one-man, one-vote "Democracy" will work in a Third World Nation without a homogeneous population. (See Democracy In The Third World.)

Mugabe may be more of a fanatic than some of the other winners of initial elections, but the result is more typical than anyone in our State Department--which pushed this nonsense--will admit.

This is a common third world scenario. Call me racist if you want, but uncivilized peoples are not capable of self rule on any level above that of tribal/extended family. South Africa, Rhodesia, Algeria, DRot Congo, Ethiopia, etc. And that's just on the african continent. Head to south america and you can get a list longer than your arm.

Mugabe is playing true to type and until someone kills him nothing will change. When that happens, another just as bad will fill the void and the brutality and evil will continue, but aimed at another supposed wrong that needs righting. These and all other third world nations need to be pacified and then civilized for thier own good and that of the world.

There were about 50,000 whites in Zim in 2000 when the Third Chimurenga started.

There are about 30,000 now.

Meanwhile the population of Zim has declined by about 1 million, mainly in a quiet volkerwanderung little noticed and even less remarked Europe or North America.
