I disagree, McClintock nearly beat a Democrat statewide during the last election -- losing by only 17,000 votes despite being outspent 5 to 1. And according to the most recent LA Times poll McClintock pulled in more Independents than Bustamante and had twice the support of Arnold (28% vs. 14%)among Indies. I don't think either candidate should pull out. That's what elections are for -- let the voters decide.

.....McClintock should pull out.....
Me thinks this post is an indication that he did pullout.
He has it both ways. The truly committed conservatives can vote for him and those who don't want to lose their vote can cast one for Arnold. Every body gets to come out and vote for recall and Aarnold wins.
No one loses face.

"Give us a winner, give us a winner!" I doubt the party leadership would be quick to endorse Arnold if it was clear he couldn't win. Oh yes, he will. And Karl Rove is enjoying all of this hugely.

Perception is not your strong suit, is it. hahahahahahahaha
To: pollywog
Yep, I just notified my G.O.P. rep of the same. It felt good! Especially since all the committee work she had planned for me is down the drain.

Until the California GOP is thoroughly purged, those 54 electoral votes are firmly Rat. So are the Senate seats. So is the governorship and the state legislature. Arnie is no more a Republican than was Margaret Sanger.
RINOs are not Hatfields. RINOs are not McCoys. If someone is to be honored to be compared with either, they had better be able to shoot as accurately as Louis Lepke Buchalter and I don't mean in a polo match.
If anything is devoured here, it will be the GOP because of the nasked greed of Arnie, Wilson and Buffett. If you do not recognize that now, you WILL know it later.

All I know is the rest of us are sick and tired of the never-ending well of "Tom/Arnold sucks and Tom/Arnold doesn't!" threads. You can say that again.
Mega-Bump!
When all is said and done...Californians we'll get what they deserve; and either way, it don't look too good for conservatives.

I disagree. McClintock supporters seem to be so upset there boy is losing, they could stay home and make the over all recall vote harder to win. They are not going to vote for Arnold no matter what but they at least need to show up and vote for the recall.
So you suspect that while Tom is losing for gov, the TomBots will meanwhile lose the recall?
The recriminations would last generations.

Nah, it's not racism - just the standard "Hey look! The Indians have something we want! Let's take it, even if we have to break our word to them again!" thing that politicians have done for generations... His commercials ooze that and it bother me a lot. I'm not the only one.

If the Dems find that alleged film, there's no way anyone can call it lie.

How many conservative republicans have you elected state wide in your state recently ~ oh black one? :-/
Bashing California republicans because they support A.S. over T.M. will not change one single voter's mind.
I lived in CA for 60 years before moving to Oregon. :-/

One thing I believe all the Arnie supporters totally forget about. When the Kalifornia delegation arrives at the National Convention, headed by the Governor, and starts hard lobbying for the alteration or total removal of basic planks of the party platform, will the Arnie backers still back him??

He was just diagnosed with Tuberculosis!! His doctor told him point blank that the valley is experiencing a "mini-epidemic" of this once eradicated disease brought here by the swarm of illegals, particularly those from Central America. The doctor also informed him that he is seeing a number of cases that do not respond to any known antibiotic or medication in general.
As a RN in this Valley, every word you said is true.

I grew up in a modest blue-collar unionized Democratic household so long ago that you could still be a Democrat, a Catholic and an American. Many moved to the Republican Party over abortion and morality and anti-communism and resistance to working class taxes and historical issues. We see Mexicans as future allies. Muffy and Skipper do not but they have no plan to convert the Mexicans into trust fund conservatives. They think of the Mexicans (including the undocumented ones) as the hired help who cannot complain of slave wages to government.
When, thirty years ago, cafeteria workers at Yale demanded and got $10 per hour, many from blue collar backgrounds thought those workers were pigs and those who thought so were right. Today, when all priority is placed upon tax cuts for the wealthiest (I am not enough of a sap to claim that the tax cuts have been fairly distributed), deporting blue collar jobs, deporting corporate HQ so that more tax burden may be shifted to those working with their hands, and illegals are cynically brought across the border to help Muffy and Skipper put the hired help in their place, I confess that I think Muffy and Skipper are being pigs along with Buffett, Wilson and Schwarzenkennedy. About that, I am also right.
Most Republicans are not at all rich. Some of the rich are neither brainless nor immoral nor amoral nor stupid. Some are all four and they are trying to seize control of the California GOP to gorge themselves yet again. Enough is enough.
How do you plan on acquiring the votes of Mexicans? Will you tell them that if they are faithful Republicans now, their grandchildren may dream of earning minimum wage? You are protecting their grandchildren's one in a thousand shot at having a trust fund to protect?
If you think these are not real issues, read Robert Bork's latest book as to the influence of the social elites on our courts and on our law in gross violation of our constitution.
