Well, when you're Californians, you have to have SOME things in common I suppose.

I did some reading last night. Arnold socializes with Kurt Waldheim and has been filmed on camera saying he admires Hitler.

The Waldheim connection is well known from years ago. Is that news to you?

I can just imagine what your were reading that claimed Schwarzenegger said he admires Hitler. It seems to me this was already raised and struck down as the lie it is.

Bandwagon psychology and timing is everything in a campaign.

You're right. And it is a crying shame that FReepers/'conservatives added to the AS momentum and bandwagon effect over a month ago. Very sad.

That's what most of Mr. S's wild, rabid crowds look like. Vacuous, empty-headed blonde cheerleader types, starry-eyed and swooning.

As I noted earlier in the thread, such contempt for others. It's really breathtaking to observe.

Carry on. It's quite entertaining.

Okay, so what universe did they use in the poll? The articles says they surveyed "Registered Voters" and "Probable Voters". Since it doesn't say "Republican Registered Voters" or "Republican Probable Voters", I think it's safe to assume they surveyed all voters.

Nice try though.

What is wrong with someone who wants to play golf joining a Country club -- are you against successful Republicans?

I said that the term "country club Republican" is a figure of speech. It has to do with ones motivations for being a Republican rather than whether they actally belong to a country club or not.

Okay, so what universe did they use in the poll?

Given how sharply the answers shift between individual questions, they used at least two groups. Additionally, a neighbor of mine who is a registered Democrat was NOT asked Question 6, and he participated in this survey. (I live in the most heavily polled and test-marketed neighborhood in the US, since we happen to have a demographic/ideological/income distribution that matches America as a whole.)

The articles says they surveyed "Registered Voters" and "Probable Voters". Since it doesn't say "Republican Registered Voters" or "Republican Probable Voters", I think it's safe to assume they surveyed all voters.

You are, of course, assuming that they're not trying to slant the poll results to what they favor. It would not be the first time the USA Today folks have slanted their polls to generate results they want.

This class warfare by some of these conservatives sound just like the democRATs. Never thought I would see the day when Republicans (?) criticize people for being successful!

No, as a matter of fact, I will do what I have done for forty years. It got rid of Lowell Weicker in Connecticut and saw Ronaldus Maximus elected president twice by landslides. I don't have to cry. Life is like that in the principled lane.

Crying is for the Kumbaya snugglebunnies who want to kiss the soccer moms' collective patoot, to wring their hands over the awful complexity of it all and imagine themselves first rate strategists when they are merely practitioners of surrender on the installment plan. No election is the final election until God says so.

If California's constitution had provided for a primary in this unique situation, we would not be having this discussion. It doesn't. We'll learn to live accordingly. Genuine policy partisans have long memories.

Meanwhile, if you elect Arnold, enjoy your resultant misery. I will certainly enjoy your resulting misery.

Your social surrender monkeyism, in the run of history, won't mean Diddle..... well, you know.

We need less Country Club Republicans and more Gun Club Republicans.

Hell yeah! Have you heard that FR's own Liberty Belles have endorsed McClintock?

I seriously doubt that! Tom just said in a recent statement that the "establishment" has never supported him - and he on the contrary gets his support from grassroots conservatives from outside the state, and that was just fine with him.
