*Poll says McClintock could win 1-0n-1 matchup*

Brother Hugh, some news.

John Eastman, a professor of law at Chapman University and a frequent guest on your radio program, has just brought to my attention a poll that will interest you. Commissioned by the Lincoln Club of Orange County, the poll includes the following results:

If Arnold Schwarzenegger found himself in a head-to-head race against Cruz Bustamante--that is, in effect, if Tom McClintock dropped out of the race--then Schwarzenegger would win, 44 to 37 percent.

But if Tom McClintock found himself in a head-to-head race against Cruz Bustamante--that is, in effect, if Schwarzenegger dropped out of the race--then McClintock would win, 42 to 40 percent.

From the beginning, Hugh, you have made a single argument against McClintock, insisting that he cannot win.

But he can.

Ran away from my response, but tried to piggy back on someone else's I see. Pathetic. FYI, I already did about the 70.

You two idiots said the same thing. You want a customized response that you wont even read because it might intrude on your reality. What is this crap about the 70? Im not a mindreader and I havent posted for hours. Ive got work to do and since Im the boss I dont get paid unless I do it.

How many will be rejoicing when this whole Tom vs. Arnold routine is over? Come on...I can't be the only one!

This has been hell for me. It would set off my alarm when after the last election, out-of-staters would point and laugh at Bill Simon and say, "You should have nominated Riordan" when they don't realize that Riordan -- not Specter, not Snowe, not Bloomberg -- is the quintessential RINO. Say what you will about the aforementioned three, but neither of them has spoken at the Democratic National Convention and accepted the title "Honorary Democrat."

This is ten times worse.

At this point, is there anything Schwarzenegger could say or do (or to have said or done) that would cause you to rethink your support of him? Anything at all?

If he asked me to shoot you. Now dont you feel better?

That is just bizarre. How could it have gone on so long, esp. in times that were much less accepting of most nudity than today's times are?

" obviously Hugh and the Ca. G.O.P have rejected conservatism"

No, but they do reject financial suicide for idealogical purity. The financial bleeding must stop and this is just too important to take a chance that McClintock might win.

Might win is a scary proposition.

You two idiots said the same thing.

Hey boss, this explains your schizophrenic perspective on the recall, you have no long term memory. The one idiot was a guy you were Amening. I was the idiot that ripped your theories to shreads, then you ran away. Remember now?

Now get back to work slacker.

Ah yes, that's right. Schwatzeneger with the backing of the Republican National Committee is going to appoint Al Sharpton, Ted Kennedy, Harry Waxman and Sheila Jackson Lee to important positions within the California government.... GET REAL.

In case you MISSED it, the democrats are Davis and Bustamante.... but again rhetoric is more important than facts... so keep on keeping on and enjoy the Bustamante 8 years you are creating.

Ah yes the last refuge of the lost argument, claim your opponent isn't a true conservative, or some other name.

I am not sure what point you are trying to make with this statement, other than perhaps since Dole was obviously going to lose I must have voted Clinton because of it being obvious he would win? Which is a nonsense comparison.. because there is a huge difference from voting for your parties canidate even if they lose and voting for a canidate when you know it will cost your party completely the election.... But I know I know, political subtleties are lost on the all or nothing crowd.... Keep up the good work.... Californias been doing great with your mentality so far!

It was done under the guise of a "posture study". The link is worth reading when you can access it at home. It is the text of a 1995 New York Times article by Ron Rosenbaum, "The Great Ivy League Nude Posture Photo Scandal: How scientists coaxed America's best and brightest out of their clothes."

Simon would have run had he not had a bunch of tards running his campaign and if he were half-way articulate.

Thanks for confirming my point.

Hugh & the CA GOP have abandoned conservativism because they have no faith its appeal. If this is what they believe then their surrender to the left - their refusal to even try to state a case for their "beliefs" - makes sense.

But "the machine" has not turned on McClintock . Indeed, the media and others tools of the left are supporting McClintock and trumpeting every small rise in the polls. Our political enemies know that the best case scenario is that McClintock splits the vote or better, Arnold drops out leaving them free to unload on McClintock with the usual ultrarightwingconservativeantichoicehomophobechildhater rap.

What would the polls say after that?

Exactly. Clinton was the most conservative "electable" candidate in 1996.

Which is a nonsense comparison.. because there is a huge difference from voting for your parties canidate even if they lose and voting for a canidate when you know it will cost your party completely the election.... But I know I know, political subtleties are lost on the all or nothing crowd....

And the difference between "party" and "principle" is lost on political prostitutes.

Hahah... well enjoy your continued communist slide there in Cali.. it is obvious the lessons of politics are lost on the Cali Republican party.

You have no say until you get elected... keep incisting that the person you elect MUST BE 100% what you want... and in the mean time watch your taxes go up, and everything you don't believe in become more and more ingrained because those you oppose understand the simple concepts of incrementalism and political compromise... while you all or nothing types stay backbenchers just along for the ride.

The failure to understand your "principles" get no attention at all until you get someone elected shows exactly why your irrellevance in Cali continues.

I don't live in California, and would move there only under duress. Nor do I require 100% agreement with pols to support them... 30% would be plenty.

The list continues to grow, the caucophoney echoes:

NEWSMAX.COM - McClintock can't win
REALCLEARPOLITICS.COM - McClintock can't win
CALNEWS.COM - McClintock can't win
CALIFORNIA INSIDER - Arnold may be better off if (McClintock) stays in for awhile (imho)
Hugh Hewitt (KRLA) - McClintock can't win
Al Rantel (KABC) - McClintock can't win
Frank Pastore (KRLA) - McClintock can't win
Brian Whitman (KABC) - McClintock can't win
Laura Ingraham - McClintock can't win
John and Ken Show (KFI) - McClintock can't win
Bill Handel (KFI) - McClintock can't win
Mr. KABC - McClintock can't win
Larry Elder - McClintock can't win
CALIFORNIA REPUBLICAN PARTY - McClintock can't win
Sean Hannity - McClintock can't win
JIM BRUELTE CA. REP. ASSEMBLY - McClintock can't win
- ENDORSES ARNOLD ROGER HEDGECOCK - McClintock can't win
DARYLL ISSA (and Tom's Friend) - McClintock can't win

I mean, at what point will you TOMBOTS realize that losing with your purist principles will SUCK?

What's going to be more tragic? That the Recall succeeds and BustaMECHA wins? That the recall fails and Arnold wins because Republicans chose to vote against the recall rather than let BustaMECHA get in? That your boy TOM will NEVER BE ELECTED TO A SERIOUS STATEWIDE OFFICE IF HE DOESN'T TAKE IT FOR THE TEAM?
