Bands Rock Against Bush
Concerts and tours to raise awareness about 2004 election
Sonic Youth, the Donnas, the Liars, the Locust and Erase Errata are among the groups who have pledged their support for Bands Against Bush, a self-explanatory new artistic collective dedicated to lending its support to the "struggle against a world of perpetual fear and violence bolstered by the Bush administration." BAB has set up more than twenty regional chapters in the U.S. and abroad, with a directory of groups willing to participate in various events to raise voter awareness. Among the events planned is an October 11th international day of action, with concerts planned for New York City; Olympia, Washington; Seattle; Los Angeles; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Portland, Oregon; Paris, France; and Dublin, Ireland. The day of action will be preceded by a Rock Against Reagan Memorial show on October 9th.
On the recording front, Green Day, NOFX, Good Charlotte and others will contribute songs to Rock Against Bush, a compilation to raise political awareness prior to next year's presidential election. The set is due next year and will be augmented by a tour organized by NOFX frontman Fat Mike.
And Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello is planning to hit the road with fellow politically minded musicians Billy Bragg and Steve Earle on the Tell Us the Truth Tour this fall. The jaunt is being timed to coincide with campaigning for the 2004 election.

Rock Against Reagan Memorial show on October 9th. You gotta be kidding me! Reagan? Why not just have a US out of Vietnam Memorial Tour?

hey, and did you actually take a *look* at the band with the transgendered lead singer's webpage? "She" looks like my mailman, only with lipstick and a bigger beer gut! According to the website, "she" sings a love song about Star Trek's William Shatner. And they think THIS is somehow going to help the Dem's cause? LOL! We should encourage them!

"Bands Against Bush?"
How about "Bands Against Brains?"

I went to a Todd Rundgren concert with my wife in March, and when he started ragging on Bush, war, etc. he got booed quite loudly. Booed! Todd Rundgren! It was most amusing.

Sonic Youth, Green Day, Audioslave.... no more. I didn't buy the new Audioslave album after going to their web site, totally of the deep end group, which has Chris Kornell(sp?) and members from Rage Against the Machine. Yeah, we vote.
Net loss for these folks, lots of 20-30 somethins look back at the Reagan years as the greatest. Mom and Pop loved each other, we had a nice house, I got my Atari, had a killer Schwinn bike, and had great neighbors. 20 and 30 somethings want those times for our kids.

It looks like more agitprop from the Anarchists with a capital A.I just love the fact that they're so stupid they're holding the concerts A YEAR TOO EARLY TO EVEN HAVE THE SLIGHTEST EFFECT.

Yawn. Second-rate musicians. I'd mop the floor with any of their guitarists. :) Take that, you lefty punk kids.
To: Paul Atreides
I'm proud to say that I have never heard of most of those groups. As far as I am concerned, rock music died in the early 90s.Amen!

Bevis and Butthead with their air guitars think they're important......

I couldnt have said it better-these "musicians", like the 9 demorat dwarves and other liberals are nothing more than cowardly traitors giving comfort and support to our islamo-fascist enemies. We're fighting WORLD WAR III for God's sake and all has been forgotten since 9/11. Compare this with the way this nation came together after Pearl Harbor, and it can make you sick.

Looks like a list of garage bands.
To: natewill
Ironically, I couldn't find any of them on Kazaa. LOL..... probably 'cause most of their output isn't deemed worthy of uploading by those who do that sort of thing.

Good Charlotte is one of the lamest "bubblepunk" outfits out there. Sum 41 have more punk cred than they do.

The Dixie Twits recently said they were going to get away from the Country scene. Maybe they'll be joining in the effort soon.
I have an idea! Let's freep the bands/singers that SUPPORT BUSH and have them put on a concert to rally for the President! Let's see... Hank Jr, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, just to name a few... wonder which concert would have more in attendance, huh? ;)
