Yeah, you're correct, I should have first read the responses and realized that his remark would get plenty of rebuke.

This was meant for you:
Well, which is it?
was reacting against the doomsday posts on here
OR
don't remember any in particular....just a couple days ago that was the sense
If you are reacting to something that happened days ago, you're basically admitting YOU came on this thread with an attitude.

circular firing squad close, but I have my doubts that's what Cartman would really call it.

Hey, jenny. Hey, Howlin. I'm reading your posts, jealous of your exciting weather. Here in Seattle it just drizzles. :-)
Stay safe, and thanx for all the updates!

I have no dog in this fight - but over here on the West Coast the media has be playing this as a pretty bad hurricane - allot of doom and gloom. Could be as bad as any, ever.
That may be true and it may not be true - I have no clue.
But maybe part of what RW is reacting to is that media hype.

Nice camera view, IT. Are those big waves breaking out there? I can't tell, but there have been reports of heavy surf all along the East Coast this afternoon.
To: Dog
.....so we can go back to the doom and gloom. Or a simple amazement on the weather (and eventually, amazement on how the same folks who can't predict something 24 hours in advance can come right back and say not only is "global warming" both happening and all bad but man's fault).

"Hey, you chose to live there. "
If you are an example of the average person from Kansas, I can see why they are there rather than Kansas.
To: Dog
I just hit abuse on discostu for sending me an obscenity-filled freepmail, so perhaps this problem will sort itself out.
To: Howlin
Are the AZ guys at it again? Sheesh. They're giving us a bad name here. Drop it already.
How are you holding up, Howlin?

Yes, and history and the current hurricane's poor structure which does not allow for the doom and gloom.
It does allow for some realizing that this is still a hurricane, but not going to be even close to as bad as originally thought.

" vote that this winter we FORCE rwfromkansas to start a blizzard thread, so that everyone can tell him it's really not THAT cold, and everyone is making a big deal out of nothing, and 4-foot snow drifts are just small potatoes. "
Or maybe during tornado season everyone can just tell him he can easily ride out those tornados in his home and that an F-3 tornado is no big deal.

Or you could just not call me "it".

That thing looks pretty damn scary to me.
I have lived through Tornados, Fires, Blizzards and Earthquakes - but even in my time in Florida I never had to go through a hurricane - and I am not disappointed.

I guess it's time to put their sticks away for a while. They should be charged a premium for their rescue, IMHO.
