Yes, they do, but OFTEN animal grease is used. For this reason, I don't put this Jackson-Lee statement in the same list as her many stupidisms. This was the point of your thread, wasn't it?

As an aside, french fries deep fried in vegetable oil are poor and miserable substitutes for those fried in animal grease, tastewise.

This place: http://www.johnslunch.com fries all their stuff in good 'ol beef shortening. Ya can't beat the results. Man I love that place, wish I could go there for supper anytime I wanted (difficult when it's a thousand miles away).
