For anyone who'd like to spend an interesting hour getting some background on the people making this slander, punch "Fresno Human Relations Commission" into Google and read on. This commission isn't Democrat, this commission is "progressive". For any neophytes reading this, "progressives" are the people who still wave a hammer and cycle flag. They sponsored a Jesse Jackson rally, and a key board member was kicked off the board for his outspoken criticism of our military and the war against terrorism.

Since certain members of the HRC apparently also "informed the police of this violent hate march," they can probably be charged with filing a false police report.
I also know that in a lot of cities, using the city seal under false pretenses (as they did) can at the very least cost you your job and is often also a violation of city law.
Why settle for civil charges against these people? File criminal charges against them as well!

The Commission is composed of 17 members appointed by the City Council and the Mayor. Each Council member appoints two members while the Mayor appoints three members.

From Google:
"The council presented Kapoor a proclamation honoring his work and congratulating him on his recent appointment to the board of directors of the International Peace Research Association Foundation."
He [Kapoor] is working on a publication entitled, "Cesar Chavez and His Spirituality."

Okay Jim, here's my letter in an email to Autry. Hope it has your stamp of approval.
City of Fresno
Major Alan Autry
Mr. Autry,
As a long term citizen of Fresno and a member of the group Free Republic I can verify that Free Republic is not a hate group. I don't hate anyone.
I also invite you and anyone else to check out the website at FreeRepublic.com. Since this is an open bulletin board there are on occasion, an inappropriate comment posted onto the site. Jim Robinson has moderators that are able to delete those comments and will ban the individuals if they continue to cause problems on the site.
Due to the slanderous press release from the Human Relations Commission of the City of Fresno I demand that this group be disbanded. I also demand that the Human Relations Commission and the City of Fresno send retractions with apologies to Free Republic and to all the sources that the original news release was sent to.
I also demand that there be a complete police investigation into this whole matter. I believe that Ms. Debbie Reyes used her city position and influence for the political purpose of harassment of private citizens that disagree with her own closely held beliefs on the war with Iraq.
I am outraged that my taxes were spent to harass me because I support the President of the United States and our military personnel in the Middle East. As a female veteran who has a husband currently serving in the military it is my God given right to support our military. I believe that my First Amendment rights were violated along with everyone else that participates in our Friday night rallies.
I would like to see that Ms. Reyes is financially to be held responsible for the payment of the Fresno Police officer's salaries that were assigned to our rally. There were 2 to 3 squad cars positioned in the Blackstone/Shaw area from 5 until 7 P.M with each squad car having 2 officers. I believe that the Fresno Police Department has more valuable use for their officer's time and resources.
The group that I believe that Debbie Reyes is associated with a group called Peace Fresno. Peace Fresno has repeatedly used the Fresno Police Dept. as a tool to harass us at our Friday night rallies. We have had no recourse until now.
Thank you for your time and your stance on this issue.

I like your thinking Timesink! Criminal it is. Personally, I loathe these ridiculous thought-crime laws, but as long as we have them on the books, let's go after the real haters. Good grief, family picnic paranoids. The mayor needs to get this under control ASAP.

This 'Human Relations Commission' has been controversial for some time now, based on all the results of a Google search. I guess we should just consider ourselves lucky that local HRCs up here are not as FUBAR'ed...

Yea, I read that too. That's a dead giveaway this guy could spend his summer vacations with FARC. The thing that really bothers me about commissions like this one, is that front and center of their mission statement is their self-appointed inquisitional status as witch-hunters, as "hate crime" sniffer outers. That always spells "race-baiting" in my experience. These people have piqued my interest. I think I'm going to do some old fashioned investigative journalism of my own.

Well, you know we've been "targeted" and I'm taking care of details behind the scenes, but I doubt any of the little "ants" will show... Also, we don't have a "Human Rights" Commission stirring thins up... Hmmm, I wonder If WE have a "right" not to be hatefully attacked. Oh, how silly of me, only the leftie-commie-liberal extremists can decide who is "politically correct" and acceptable.

Oh good grief...
Mission? To stir up divisivness and racial anger
Who We Are? Pathetic twits and mentally disturbed self-loathing America hating liberals
What We Do?: Set up meetings with organizations we have sniffed out to tell them how important WE are and how THEY can be important with us by attacking others
What YOU Should Do?: Please put us out of our misery and disband us...we can't help ourselves...stop us...help...help

This is typical of the left. When losing the debate, they always resort to ad hominems. We're "racists", "haters", and "nazis", "Bush is Hitler", etc. It's okay for a leftie to demonize and use epithets, since they claim to own the tolerance issue. Of course it's all horses--t, they're clearly the racists here, the ones guilty of true hate, but of course they can't admit to it. I agree with the sentiments above; if this isn't slander, I don't know what is. They can dish it out, but I doubt they can take it. Sue 'em.
