now the p.c. crowd wants our children to be as MALNOURISHED as the rest of the world!

Don't encourage the world to RISE to our level! No! That would not be politically correct! We must fall down to their gutter level.

Is this supposed to be bad?

As a family we have total lactose intolerance. The schools were all the time trying to kill my kids with that whole-milk stuff and would make no efforts whatsoever to provide acidophilous milk.

Then after forcing the kids to drink it, the teachers would punish them for having to make mad dashes to the restroom later in the day.

Looks like we should have moved to Pennsylvania.

Whole milk is fattening and it tastes like your drinking butter.

Drink skim milk, it's better.

I love drinking milk. I used to drink gallons of skim with my Entenmann's Softee Variety Pak Donut Shoppe doughnuts (four each of fried, sugar and cinnamon). Then I went on Atkins and had to give up those doughnuts and milk, and lost 46 pounds in the bargain. Tonight I could murder a box of those Softees, yum. My neighbor Sidelle had spaghetti at her house three times last week.

What were we talking about?

What the...? A PC attack on milk?

For the first nine years of my education (I am 54), we didn't have a cafeteria at school. Everyone either went home for lunch or brought their own. You could even bring liquid refreshment in a thermos or buy a little square carton of whole, white milk for less than a nickle. I must admit to some envy as I watched a few classmates open their cellophane packaged brownies and moonpies but other than that, lunch was lunch. You ate fast and got out on the playground.

Now we spend huge amounts of money via taxation to have the government decide what our children may eat. Much of which ends up in dumpsters anyway. Criminy.

What I worry about is the bovine growth hormone (BGH) some dairy farmers add to cows to increase production. Because they won't label which dairy's milk would have traces of this hormone in it, I won't have anything to do with milk right now.

These people are NUTS. For cryin' out loud, kids NEED fats. At least they're not completely getting rid of dairy, that would be a sin.

My children would look emaciated if they had to eat all that low-fat crap.

Gee, when my kid is in school he can have buttermilk, whole milk, 2% milk, 1% milk, skim milk, canned milk, powdered milk, soy milk, goats milk, chocolate milk, Milk Duds or no milk at all. OUR choice.

Homeschooling. Teaching my kid how America should be, (used to be), since 1999.

My school-age child is liberal intolerant -- it's called "LIS" or Liberal Intolerant Syndrome. Whenever liberal ideas are taught it causes a severe reaction -- it causes the brain to turn to mush. Can I get leftist liberal indoctrination banned from my child's school? It has health consequences after all.

If you go to the web site www.milksux you will find lots of imformation about how no one over age 3 is able to digest the milk sugar lactase and that as the lactase moves through the body it does all sorts of damage. Check out Roger Mason's web site Young Again Nutrients and you will find that milk causes all sorts of diseases. The more milk you drink the sicker you will be. Try soy milk, its better for you. Or you could try water. It's relatively free. Hey toadstools and hemlock are vegetarian and they are very toxic. Milk is animal tissue and it is nondigestable. PS cigerettes aren't really very good for you either. Anyhow, You have the freedom to do what you want. I just thought I would give you the truth and then you may decide how to live with the knowledge.

DRINK GOATS MILK!

The whole milk thing is probably a "nasty fat" issue. Goats milk is more digestible, the fat molecule is smaller. Unfortunately, the goats milk you can buy in the store tastes like crap. Now fresh milk from our goats - yummmmm, especially goes great with chocolate and you know those fudge covered wafer cookies.......what were we talking about again???

Shamless promotion of goats milk -

-Nutrient content of goat milk is slightly less than cow milk but goat milk is more digestible because the fat molecules are one-fifth the size of those from cow milk -- making it easily tolerated by those with compromised digestive systems.

- Seventy-two percent of the milk used throughout the world is from goats. It is one-third richer than cows milk but more nourishing and easier to digest.

- The flavor of goat milk is comparable to that of cow milk. Goat milk has a milder taste.

- Goat milk has no cream separation because of smaller fat molecules.

- Goat milk contains pre-formed Vitamin A in the milk fat that allows it to be readily available for use by the body.

- Goats milk contains a more highly-evolved cholesterol than cows milk, making it more available for absorption to the brain and body. (Cholesterol is essential to the health of the myelin sheaths "white matter" of the nerves in the brain.)

- Goat milk is closer to human milk and is therefore easily accepted especially by those young or frail.

- Goat milk has an alkaline reaction the same as mother's milk. Cow milk has an acid reaction

- Goat milk does not form mucous (phlegm) and is therefore better tolerated by asthmatics and those with allergies.

- Goat milk contains more chlorine, fluorine and silicon than any other domestic livestock. Chlorine and fluorine are natural germicides and fluorine assists in preventing diabetes.

- Goat milk contains 2% curd, which precipitates in the stomach. Cows milk is 10% curd.

- Goats are naturally immune to diseases, such as tuberculosis, and are used in third-world countries to actually cure tuberculosis because of their inherent antibodies.

- Goats milk is tolerated by a compromised /damaged liver because of the smaller fat molecules and it's naturally homogenized.

- Goats milk has the ability to "sweeten" the intestinal tract and assist with constipation.

- Goats milk contains a higher evolved carotene (pro-Vitamin A). Researchers have found this to have cancer preventing properties.

Big deal.

The article even says that it will have whole milk for those who request it. Or if you are shy about asking, and want your kids to have whole milk at school, then send in a thermos of it. The school is supplying the best meal that it knows how to, but they're not forcing anyone to eat it.

Hey,my little girl cannot have anything with phenylalanine in it.No milk,no meat,no cheese,no nuts of any kind, nothing with very much protein at all.In fact we buy her special foods with the phenylalanine removed.Maybe I should have the school system outlaw all foods with protein in them.Seems logical(not)

Whole Milk Taken Off School Menus

It seems fitting in a perverse way--since the kids are in school getting watered-down and adulterated education they may as well be getting less nutritious milk.
