Its 4:46am September 6.
Its a little more than 100 hours from the Second Anniversary of Start the World Trade Center Attack and the subsequent Strike on the Pentagon and the Crash in Pennsylvania. 100 hours seems to be a long time; however, it is barely enough to reflect and remember all those who perished on the ground and in the air. Each one of the victims has a story, a life, that if retold would take more than 100 hours to appreciate the richness of their stay on this earth before it was snatched away.
Since 911, there has been more sacrifice. More have taken from this earth this time not in tragedy but in a quest for justice and the expansion of freedom. They were not helpless victims but Heroes of liberation for the Afghanis and Iraqis and protectors of our domestic security.
We would hope that you would take the time and reflect on the lives of those who died on 9-11 and those who have sacrificed their all since that day in these next 100 hours. Please contribute a post of reflection, a prayer, a memorial, a picture or even just a ping to your friends to let them know that 9-11 has not been ignored this year.
Never forget

I think we should remember and reflect but I don't think America needs an annual breast-beating over this. It was an important event but, except for the 3,000+ lives lost, the world goes on. I won't forget the heroes who risked (and often lost) their lives saving others, nor the heroes of Flight 93. They are truly inspiring.
Remember. Reflect. Revenge. But please let us not get into this Dr. Phil navel-gazing mode. It only deters us from what truly needs to be done.

Those who seek the destruction of a free society - leftists, communists, socialists, anachists, liberals - are unfit to live in that same society.
Take every opportunity to remind them so.

My profound thanks for this remembrance.
I have learned that I have an infinite supply of tears with which I will honor these brave souls and their loved ones -- drop by drop, at every remembrance and milestone, for the rest of my life. I've also learned that I've been granted an infinite supply of resolve, and an infinite supply of faith. God bless these heroes, our heroes who are fighting for justice this very minute, all of their loved ones, and all of us who will never forget. God bless America.

David Halderman Jr., 40, New York, N.Y., USA firefighter, New York Fire Department Confirmed dead, World Trade Center, at/in building Dave was a younger cousin of mine, who purely loved his job as a rescue tech with New Yorks Squad 18. He died doing his job as well as it can be done.
Squad 18 lost 8 of their firefighters on 09/11. He's in mighty fine company.

Samuel P. Huntington is almost certainly correct that the next several years will see a clash between Western Civilization and Islamic Civilization, but the result of this encounter is foreordained, if not the particulars of how we'll arrive at the conclusion.
the single factor that has been most significant in the repeated victory of the West in global conflicts has been the ruthlessness and finality with which it prosecutes war. The West has been more willing than other civilizations to utterly destroy enemies. ( The Clash of Civilizations,Samuel P. Huntington )

Remember. Reflect. Revenge. We've been working on it. Afghanistan was a good start [you heard about Dash-t'Leili?] and the efforts in Iraq are progressing, if not smoothly.
Though far from complete, we're doing quite all right, certainly much better and faster than in the days following WWII or our initial effort in Vietnam.
And we have some good and fine friends working with us. They'll not be forgotten or abandoned, this time.

Excerpt of President Bush's radio address to the nation September 15, 2001
after the WTC/Pentagon Terrorists Attacks of September 11, 2001:
This is a conflict without battlefields or beachheads, a conflict with opponents
who believe they are invisible. Yet, they are mistaken. They will be exposed,
and they will discover what others in the past have learned: Those who make
war against the United States have chosen their own destruction.

We will never forget. And thanks to our beloved soldiers, we feel safer today than we did on that day. Their sacrifice can never be repaid. Our prayers for their safety and the continued wisdom and leadership of President Bush and his administration.
