I agree with the greatest western being "Once upon a time." The climax of the movie, with the flash-back scene cuminating in the quick-draw is unforgetable.

Make that "culminating". :) Lousy speller. :)

So sorry to hear that. He had a great career and even more importantly, it seems like he was a good man. His Great Escape scenes were excellent, in a film full of incredible actors. (As a kid, I was a major David McCallum fan (well, still am) and couldn't understand at the time why Jill Ireland was dumping adorable McCallum for rugged Charles Bronson. It was my first hint that life was a little more complicated than I thought!)

Very sad. I really like him.

And so a great man and movie legend passes from life, but never from our hearts.
May he go in peace and with God's blessings upon him.
Shalom, chaver. L'hitraot.

I grew up watching those movies. I must have watched Death Wish III about a million times.

Charles Bronson was one of those actors whose movies I figured must be good because he was in them. I was never disappointed May he rest in peace.

Charles Bronson was one of the last Hollywood tough guys.
Many entertaining and memorable films over a 50 year career in movies.
RIP Mr.Bronson.

...he served during World War II as a tailgunner, then used his G.I. Bill to study art in Philadelphia and, intrigued by acting, enrolled at California's Pasadena Playhouse..."I guess I look like a rock quarry that someone has dynamited."
Bronson has two children with his first wife, Harriet Tendler. He married actress and producer Jill Ireland in 1958, who had two sons with her first husband, David McCallum. One adopted son (Jason) died in 1989. He and Ireland had a daughter named Zuleika. Ireland died in 1990. Bronson married his third wife, Kim Weeks, in December, 1998.
Has anyone noticed that the "real men" are now scarce and far between in Hollywood? Who would you rather have watching your back: Ben Affleck or Lee Marvin?

RENT "THE MECHANIC". ONE OF THE MOST OVERLOOKED AND UNDERRATED FILMS OF ALL TIME, AND ONE OF BRONSON'S BEST.
To: hemogoblin
Did enjoy him in "The Great Escape" and only the first "Death Wish" plus the one where he played the secret service agent Killey assigned to guard the prez' wife (who was Bronson's late real-life wife). Got some good laughs in that one which is rare for a Bronson movie. Can't remember the title.

In the '80s, I used to call the station TBS "The Bronson Station". They showed his movies all the time.
