It's posturing like that that makes me refuse to try to get into a band like Queens Of The Stone Age's new album (I had the previous one and have seen Kyuss, Nebula, and Fu Manchu a number of times but I don't have any of their albums). All of those bands listed have traded off members/splintered off. Dave is from outside the formula; the new album was too metal for me.
Iggy Pop and the Stooges have been doing some reunion shows. Supposedly a new Stooges album is forthcoming. Reportedly Sum 41 will be in the band. Won't do any more to sell Stooges albums (old or new) but there are some people who will be skeptical to pick up the new album because of the corporate-punk band being there.
Trade-in success for credibility.
