Hillary would blow everyone else out of the water instantly. She can't wait, though. Dean will win IA and NH and have the wind at his back. She has to stomp out the fire before then. The problem is that the Deanie Babies may not be so happy about Hillary breaking Dean's kneecaps. They could go Green.
To: RetiredArmy
Well, don't fall for the "she can't win" crap. You may have to move. Hillary is a formidable candidate even though we all hate her here.
To: Servant of the Nine
It wasn't that Eugene was formidable-- just that LBJ was vulnerable. Eugene was in the right place at the right time. RFK, though, knew he would be formidable so he ran.

Going green.....now THAT is an interesting possibility. Good job pointing that out!

I wish I were talented enough to compile a list of all the times and places where Hillary promised she wouldn't run for president in 2004, and pledged she would finish her term as senator. Or...does JimRob have that much bandwidth?
The media won't remind voters of what was always a transitional truth...it would just be nice to have a record of it here.

There is one issue still at stake. Hillary Runs for President and her College Thesis Becomes Public News.
I would think the opposite would be the case. Anyone getting near that thing would disappear.

Not knowing the ending of the LOTR trilogy, I am convinced that Hillary somehow stole the ring of power from Frodo and is now launching her attack on middle America.

Well, he was able to win the popular vote. Had they been running for Senate, Gore would have beaten Bush.
Don't underestimate the stupidity of the electorate or their addiction to government spending.
To: GraniteStateConservative
She can never shake her negatives and the conservative base would overwhelm the polls on election day.

>I think it's likely to be the nastiest, ugliest campaign we've ever seenI agree. I'm seriously considering selling my television--I doubt I'll have the stomach for it. I have one (actually bought one new last winter to replace the 70s-vintage set), but the last time I turned it on to watch anything but a video... ... ... I think it was the first "60 Minutes" program that had the Clinton-Dole idiocy that finally terminated 35 years of regular viewership.
Keep the set... off.

Think about it. Hillary must run now for at least a couple of reasons. First, Rudy Giuliani may run for Senate in 2006, and she can't risk losing to him before getting her presidential shot. Second, and in all seriousness, how effective will a face lift be in four more years?

Not just conservatives. Her negative polling numbers among moderates and even Democrats are remarkably high, in spite of years of Leftist media syrup and sugarcoating of her record. Why so many people here seem to fear her candidacy is beyond me. She might unite a majority of Democrats, but she's too divisive a figure to win over the swing voters who hate the politics of conflict.
Her entry into this race would present us with a golden opportunity to once and for all put a stake through the heart of Clintonian politics and end the charade of Clinton invincibility. The sooner we rid the public arena of the Clintons the better off we'll all be. I for one am hoping to see Hillary get into this race. The debonair cowboy versus the shrill and conniving wife of a disgraced president--no contest, Bush would wipe the floor with her.
