Geoghan killed in prison (Boston Herald)
Breaking news/by Eric Convey
Saturday, August 23, 2003
Former priest John Geoghan, a notorious pedophile whose case sparked the clergy molestation scandal of the past 18 months, died this afternoon after being attacked at the state prison in Shirley.
``The perpetrator has been isolated,'' said Kelly Nantell, a spokeswoman for the state Deparment of Corrections.
``Our investigation continues,'' she said.
The matter has been referred to the Middlesex County District Attorney Martha Coakley's office.
Geoghan was serving a nine-to-10 year sentence at MCI Shirley for allegedly groping a boy at a Waltham swimming pool.
More than 140 people have claimed they were abused by Geoghan, claiming they were fondled or raped at locations ranging from church rectories to their own homes.
Geoghan would become one the most notorious pedophiles in the country - not only for the extent of his rampage against children but because relevations about his case led to the unraveling of secrecy within the Archdiocese of Boston.
Bernard Cardinal Law's cordial letters to Geoghan, mixing discipline with praise for his priestly service, that pushed many victims from disbelief to outrage.

Long term relationships in the homosexual (male) community are the exception rather than the rule. It's a shame, but even my homosexual friends would agree with you, both male and female. which makes sense because they are all either in long term relationships or celibate.
Contrary to popular belief not all gay people are promiscuous.

Men usually still produce enough testostrone to have libido. The virility part is trickier. Lack of proper genital blood flow or lowered proglastadin(sic) output often preclude functionability but the desire is till there. Fortunately (or not maybe) medical science has made huge strides in this arena. BTW, many men have always functioned well in this area till quite old. My GG Grandfather had 3 children in his 70s and there was no Viagra then ..lol.
Women...it depends. I know my folks were quite active till my dad died at 65. I would agree that largely post-menopausal women have marked decreased sex drive.
I have always had a hunch that fertile women have a reproductive desire which is innate even if they deny it and that it fuels their libido. Studies have shown that women are unknowingly more sexually driven at ovulation and are also more likely to cheat then. Not only that but if they do cheat then, their cervix and uterine enzymes have been found to be more receptive to the "partner in adultery"'s sperm.
We have a lot to learn about women..lol

That makes total sense:
Women are definetly dictated by there hormones.
PMS time my husband is definetly playing golf.
Ovulation he is always home LOL.
Estrogen Progesterone, Testosterone are the key components in are life as sexual creatures, and I think this is true for the Animal Kingdom.

I have to say this did not sadden me. I truly believe this guy was one unrepentant SOB who used the Catholic church to gain access to young boys and men--some in the advocacy of this sickness may even consider him some kind of vaulted pioneer--think NAMBLA and some of the homosexual advocacy groups. May God have mercy on his soul.

Yes, I wonder why he was placed in a prison with "lifers" for a 6 year sentence...

Well, we do try to stay above our hormones....one of the things that distinguishes us from the Wild Kingdom (bluntpoint excluded of course)

I have a couple of homosexual friends in their 70s and 80s who would probably disagree with you. a bunch of them are enjoying the antics of the children of their nieces and nephews. Including my daughter's godfather (but he's only 58)
I know I come across as some homo-loving liberal on that idea, but some day I hope that many of the so-called Christians around here will understand that even homoseuals can be God loving Christians.

Note the media bias:
Geoghan was serving a nine-to-10 year sentence at MCI Shirley for allegedly groping a boy at a Waltham swimming pool.
I wonder, at what point after the conviction for the crime do they consider dropping the modifier "allegedly"?
To: Gabz
Well, somebody wasn't paying enough attention to what these guys were doing. The leadership definately knew, and transferred people around.

How long have your homosexual friends in there 70's and 80's been together? And I guess if there not engaging in sexual activity then they would be God Loving Christians.

It's their 'Christian' side, dontcha know++++
And the above is your eloquent and respectful contribution to the matter? I could have taken the nicely written paragraph that followed, if it wasn't for this sentence that began the whole post. The second part only made you seem self-righteous, the first part made the whole post, what was your word, trashy...
That said, there is not a thing wrong with feeling relief or even joy that an evil person has left this earth. It is as natural as feeling sadness at a good and loved person's death.
