There may be confusion as to how this happened, but one thing the terrorist would be disappointed with is there wasn't any mass hysteria.
Everyone seems calm. It's just an inconvienence. Hopefully the night will be just as calm. I know the press will over report any incidents of crime without regard to the normal levels of crime on any given night.

I saw a post that half the country in the dark. Not making light of what has happened but half the country? I thought this was NYC and parts of NJ? Anyone have a map up? It was maybe 15% of the country. NYC, up the Hudson to Albany, go west along the NY thruway to Syracuse, then a ring along the US side of Lake Erie, Erie Pa, Cleveland, Toledo, to Detroit.
On the canadian side follow the ring around Lake Ontario to Toronto and then up the corridor to Ottawa.
