The sleeveless chick on Fox News is staring to disturb me.

She's been trying to drum up panic the whole time. Morbid, if you ask me.

The problem with that is that the ties with Canada provide a lot of the power for the Northeast.

Michael Gent from NERC said it may even have been caused in Ohio - says that they really don't know until all the data is in to develop a time line.

".......Perhaps we need an occasional massive event like this to remind us of why we are supposed to do what is required........"

What a golden opportunity for Bush to slam the environmental wackos and the leftist-obstructionists in the Demon-cratic Party for thinking that we're "going to Conserve our way out of an energy crisis".

Yea, right {snort}. More WINDMILLS!

Might be a good night for New Yorkers to catch a glimpse of Mars:

"Mars has been putting on quite a show in the evening sky for the past month - for anyone who looks up. Just look to the southeast a little after sunset and you will see what all the fuss is about.

For the next few days, Mars will be rising between 8:45 pm and 9:45 pm local time in the southeast. (The actual rise time depends on your location.) It will be the brightest object in that region of the sky and its reddish/orange color will make it easy to spot. Without a telescope, you won't be able to see the disk of the planet or any surface markings, but it is still worth watching as it gets brighter over the next few days."

Typical 24 hour cable news...rushing with reports they can't fully confirm. Too many "experts" they quote.

And if he didn't speak he'd be criticized for being insensitive to the needs of the country. Left/Media would attack him for being too busy with fundraisers and vacation to take the time out to comfort the nation.

Times have changed since 9/11. I've been following this thread from the beginning. There are some real tin-foil-hat theories out there. I think it is quite proper and necesary to tell the nation (not just those affceted) what is going on - even if it is "everything is ok".

The nuclear power reactors are not off, they're just not supplying power to the grid. In other words, the reactors are still up; loss of electricity elswhere shouldn't affect them. So they may spin down the generators, but the reactors should be ok.

Well, the CNN news droids did for a while. For about 15 minutes after the second plane hit they were still babbling about "navigation error" or "sun in the pilots eyes" long after every other network was saying, "this is deliberate".

You should have been watching the BBC. Even as they showed, LIVE, the second jet coming into view, plowing into the tower and causing that GIGANTIC explosion, they just kept on blabbering about the FIRST tower - "Reportedly a small plane, there will probably be some injuries," blah blah blah - for a good TWO TO THREE MINUTES afterwards, before they even realized there had been a second explosion, much less that it was caused by a second plane strike. The entire world was watching this huge fireball, but not a single anchor in the studio was even paying attention, because they were so busy getting off on the sounds of their own voices.

She's been trying to drum up panic the whole time.

That's pretty irresponsible --- I hope she loses her job for that. It's a time to promote calm or order ----why actually try to bring on chaos?

City of Detroit MAY have a 10PM curfew. If applied, would apply to ALL ages.

Decision not made yet.
