Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

I hope he doesn't have to climb a lot of stairs, 'cause the elevators aren't working.

I have seen rolling blackouts before and until it has been verified as sabatoge, the first thing I think is not that the government is lying.I don't automatically assume terror.I don't think every plane crash is terror, either.I accept terror can happen, has happened and most likely will happen again...I don't assume every word out of an official's mouth is a lie.Nor do I count on it being accurate and fully the truth. They don't know exactly what happened.I'll wait on the investigation. The grid is lousy.

Some people just have a lot more information than you do. The FBI is probably one of them. Along with the hundreds, if not thousands of electric utility employees who know what happened. If this is a cover-up or conspiracy, it's going to have to be a doozy.

CBS is reporting that people are trapped in rides at the Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky - on roller coasters and stuff. Hotter than blazes there, and they've been stuck there for a couple hours or so Been to Cedar Point many times. I would be most concerned for those who are stuck in the middle of an upside down loop roller coaster.
Cedar Point has a very professional staff, IMO.

Too bad all the NIMBY's won't let you build transmission lines to get the power to them!

ABC News specialist said all three computer software packages designed to prevent this from happening have obviously failed and it will take a few weeks for cyber forensic experts to determine why the systems failed.

I've been bouncing back and forth between the four NYC network affiliates...I gotta get me a dish. I don't want to watch another second of my local affiliates. They SUCK.

Lots of people said it's absolutely, positively not terrorism. Who?
Here is one example:
"A senior U.S. law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the FBI had determined the blackout was a "natural occurrence" and there was no evidence of terrorism, and that the Homeland Security Department agreed. "
Thank you for proving my point for me.

Could someone sitting somewhere using a computer crash the electric grid? Make it look like the system became overloaded.Apparently, that's what several posters are stating.....

My favorite Bloomberg comment: he said they're setting up emergency shelters, and they'll have that info up on their website.

People fill the street in Herald Square in New York August 14, 2003 after a blackout hit the city. Massive power outages hit New York and other cities in the northeastern United States and Canada, trapping thousands in crowded subways and forcing the evacuation of office buildings. At the least I'm seeing a gross failure of our power infrastructure. Way too early to rule out anything BTW.
At 6:08 PM CDT CBS Network News reports that Detroit Edison has told all industries to take a three day weekend!
Heads need to roll in the power industry. This should never have happened....

I'd worry more about the people at Sandusky trapped upside down in a roller coaster in the sweltering heat.
Seems to me they'd be a priority.
Then there's the folks in the elevators and subways...

Did you see post 1401:

"ABC: federal government and electric regulatory commission very worried about cyber security and we will need computer forensic experts to determine why the three software packages failed. Expert feels it's ridiculous to say it's definitely not terrorism.

VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY June 13, 2001:"One of the concerns, obviously, is the aging power grid and the growing problem that we have in getting electricity from the power plant to the light switch. It's clear that we must upgrade and expand the power grid. If we put more connections in place, we'll go a long way towards avoiding future blackouts."
