Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

Turn the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. Failing that, induce infinite resistance into the circuit (unplug it)

Damn, no kidding, we were just commenting on that. Gawd! What an insult he is.....Bloomie's not speaking to the citizens of New York. He's speaking to REPORTERS.

These sorts of things bring people together, something lacking in our normal lives.

I am also in the Franklin area.
Since we have MTEMC I am used to the power going off, especially on nice clear days like today. Thank heavens we are not part of this mess.

Is this blackout affecting some websites? I've been trying to access mail2web.com for the past hour and can't do it. Since mail2web.com is registered to someone in Toronto, I'd say that's a good possibility.

...and don't forget CA. It wasn't terrorism that knocked us off line repeatedly last summer and winter. In Sonoma County we still have periodic outages.
Another reason for the nervousness in some is that the drip, drip, drip of liberal/Dem contenders for President saying we are vulnerable has eroded their confidence in our security systems.
Personally I think Hillary pulled the switch - Bush was getting too much play on the Hambali capture today. :)

I saw it on the local news and was under the impression that the arrests took place at the Nashville airport. I'll look for a link...

YESTERDAY The Shiites promised us problems if we weren't out of Iraq in 24 hours. YESTERDAY two Pakis on the "do not fly list" were arrested at SeaTac, after they paid cash for tickets to NYC on separate flights...Puh-leeze. Allow me to rebut this statement of yours. First, you cannot be serious. the Shiites in Iraq, who can't even get their power UP can take an entire power grid DOWN? Second, are the Paki's in cahoots with these Shiites, or were they operating separately, but coincidentally on the exact same plot? Also, since these two were, in fact, arrested, how did they carry out their brilliant plan? By remote control from jail?

Most of my applicances don't have on/off switches. Most just one button to turn off, same one to turn off. Or they are like lamp knobs that just go "click - on...click - off". Those types.
