"Arnold will lose": Dick Morris quote on The O'Reilly radio factor
Posted on 08/07/2003 10:56:10 AM PDT by 1Old Pro
Just a heads up / FYI
Dick Morris will be on O'Reilly's TV show tonight expanding on his prediction that "Arnold will fade like a pretty girl at the door." Morris thinks many more Dems will enter the race. He aslo says that political amatuers have no business running for office.

Now I know that Morris is working for Hillary. Explain the logic to me please. How do more Democrats in the race hurt Arnold? The way I see it, that will only help Arnold as it will split the opposition vote. I didn't realize it till now, but Morris is still rooting for the bad guys, ala Hitler's Daughter!

Who gives a damn about McClintock? He's just one man. Oh well. Until seeing his name on this board, I didn't even know who he was. How great can he be if he has been so un-noticed till now? I don't CARE if he has decided to run for Governor, that doesn't give him ANY MORE RIGHT to be Governor then the other 5,000 people who are already on the ballot.

The toe-sucker just put the Kiss-of-Life on Arnold. He's CA's next Gov, bank on it.

The more people enter the better Arnie's chance are. Wrong. Conservative Republicans will go for McClintock as a block.
As more RINOs and liberals enter the field, Schwartzenegger's constituency will be diluted from both sides.
To: discostu
The more people enter the better Arnie's chance are. Not really. As more and more Dems enter the race, more Dem voters will be peeled away from Aaaaaahnold. Dem voters, not Republicans, are Aaaaaahnold's base. He needs to run against only Republicans to win. Add Dems to the mix and he loses.

Aaaaaaahnold's sex life is the least of his worries. Watch out for his dad's connections in WWII. I've already seen the his daddy was a Nazi on the usual suspected forums. Of course most have stated one shouldn't pay for the sins of the father so at least they aren't too hypocritical on that point(same thing was said when Gore's father's stands against civil rights were brought up).
BTW, I thought Clinton should be impeached and convicted. His sex life was enough our business in various litigations that he had an obligation not to perjure himself.
Agreed....but that's not what folks on the other side of the aisle were stating. Now conservatives who are upset with Arnold's peccadillos have a right ot be and they can vote their conscience.

I believe that Arnold will have the Jesse Ventura effect going for him. What's that? An unusually high turnout by younger voters who are otherwise apathetic about voting, . It was the unusually high turnout by folks that normally don't vote that put Ventura in the Governor's Mansion - the same may hold true for Arnold - for better or worse.
To: 1Old Pro
well that pretty much confirms that Arnie will win. Dick Morris has been wrong about everything since 1998.

Arnold must have gotten counsel from Bush telling him to keep his mouth shut and let his actions speak for him.

One of the main talking points popping up out here by the Davis machine is that Arnold has no experience and is not a politician. SO FREAKING WHAT?????
Why don't they go ask that moron reporter turned Davis butt-boy appointee Phil Troustine who coined the term about Davis "the best trained governor-in-waiting in California history" what he thinks about all that experience that Davis brought with him into office. All that freakin experience cost the state $50 BILLION and ruined all the mechanisms for recouping it anytime soon.

What do you expect from a Clintonoid toe sucker? He may be a toesucker, but he has been consistently harsh on the two-headed anti-Christ's known as Billary. In a column a few months ago he summed them up better than any pundit has when he closed with this observation: Its a good thing they are both sociopaths, otherwise they would never be able to sleep at night. As far as his powers of prognostication, he's no more accurate than you or me or anyone else (sane, that is) that follows politics...
To: rodeo-mamma
McClintock has been fighting out of control state spending since the 80's. You ought to care that you haven't heard of the only guy to have a plan to balance the state budget by cutting state spending by 9.5% over 18 months. I'm so shocked the liberal media hasn't given a lot of ink to an intelligent, informed conservative. /sarcasm
I agree with you -- he doesn't have any more right to run than anybody else. And he can't win. And because he can't get traction and win, it serves as an example that to get ahead in politics you are better off being a loudmouth movie star and/or rich than working your way up as a hard working, responsible local elected official. If you limit and punish people who take politics seriously, you won't have very many of them.
To: ElkGroveDan
Circus vote will go to the guy with the highest name recognition value. Arnie.
This is California currently the most left leaning state in the union, don't expect a hard core conservative to finish in the top 10.

So conservative Reps will go for McClintock, that still leaves 99% of the general populace. Arnie demographic isn't political, it's name recognition, he's got more than anybody else. The more political people you get in the race stealing savvy votes from each other the easier it will be for the guy with the killer smile to win.
