LOL, The kids over at DU started to hyperventilate when they cut away from "i would have put the war on terror in a lock box" Al. Especially when they left him for Powell. Priceless.......

Can you do me a favor and answer #106 who said Gore was begged to come to speak?
But then the poster also said Gore was using his valuable time and don't think valuable time and Gore fit in the same sentence!

OMG.......you hit it right on the nail head.......what IS it about his voice that drives us insane???? He has some HORRIBLE elocution, like he's rolling his tongue or something. Can somebody PLEASE explain it to me!This subject actually got some serious news coverage in 2000. It's the DRONING. His intonation, especially combined with his body language, make him come off as, well, what he IS: A guy who thinks - no, KNOWS - he has all the answers to all the world's problems, and is completely (and continuously) exasperated that he can't get all us proles to understand "The Truth." Plus he has more than a touch of the pucker-faced schoolmarm that we all hated in elementary school.

Translation: 1 Hillary has all of our FBI files. We will back her in '04.
Translation 2: Please make me look relevant,, cover me for five minutes like any other college prof giving a boring left wing lecture.
Did he bgin with this disclaimer: I'm here for MoveOn an objective, non-liberal group that I invented.
To: Miss Marple
Condi Rice is going to be speaking in a few minutes! So much for Gore's big moment!

You're missing the point here. The audience begged the big guys to get Al to speak. They wanted to hear him. Al cut a big chunk of his valuable time to come speak to them. He's doing his part. If the media chooses not to air it, it's your bad luck. I'm sure you'll watch it on the C-Span re-runs that will be available for at least a week. WRONG! Algore asked them if he could come and give a speech. They did not recruit him in any way, shape, or form.

I'm giving a major policy speech in twenty minutes. Everybody come watch.

Al can run on premise that Americans deserve to see what he could have done had one Scotus judge voted differently. Really? How could the Supreme Court change the fact that all recounts had Bush the winner? They merely put an end to endless counting and recounting. Had they voted differently and yet another count had been completed it merely would have resulted in GWB still the winner in Florida.

Thank you sir!

You & I think he's a private citizen. But the media knows that he is the deposed rightful President of the United States.Should he not then be banished to live on a small Mediterranean island, like Elba (given his Napoleonic tendencies..... )

I'll bring the popcorn!
To: Dog; Hildy
With him......The audience is packed with sympathetic leftists from the loony left moveon.org site. NYU isn't really "hosting" this event; it's just renting out the room.
To: SpinyNorman
I think that an excellent idea. He can take Bubba with him.
To: Dog
........there will 12 American flags behind Gore as he speaks... He should be honest AT LEAST once in his life, and hang AT LEAST one Hammer and Sickle flag in the middle!
To: Howlin
Thanks for the link to the speech .. I caught some of the clips from FNC just now
Did you see this morning the comments from one of the military guy (I forget his name) about how the commments coming Dean are endangering our troops and giving hope to the enemy that if a Dem is elected that the will pull the troops out of Iraq.

Gore said and I quote.... 1) No link between 9/11 and Saddam
2)No threat from Saddam toward the US to justify the war.
3)No Al Qeada connection to Iraq.
The man is clueless..
I call it evil. Plain evil. He has to know he was lying. And when he said no cheering Iraqis which is a blatant lie I felt sick. How dare he, as a former VP, say what he said today.
To: Wright is right!
CNN is carrying the speech BUT Bill Schneider is TALKING OVER Al. Oops, now CNN cut away for something more important - a WEATHER break!Because "they've already chosen the next president for the American people" (See my tag line). They've chosen Dean. Gore is a thorn in their side right now.

"I don't know what you mean by `glory,'" Alice said
Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. "Of course you don't --
till I tell you. I meant `there's a nice knock-down argument for
you!'"
"But glory doesn't mean `a nice knock-down argument,'" Alice
objected.
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful
tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor
less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean
so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master--
that's all."

In other words, bring back the crooks on Wall St.
Bring back the Buddhist Monks.
Bring back the Lewinsky's.
Bring back the millions of dollars wasted on round the world apology tours.
Bring back their Chinese masters too!
And we are just dying to see more of Albore's sweaty underarms............just can't wait.
