A mere nine vote swing and Bishop I. M. Gay would not have cleared the bar.

Yes, but don't forget that many of the Presbyterian USA congregations are also conservative and do NOT support the gay agenda being shoved down our throats either! Hello, WhyIsA! I was talking with a co-worker today (who is in one of those congregations). His opinion was that if this vote went through it would be coming there too -- but I think that will be dependent on the (longer-term, not immediate) reaction to this vote.

I'm not - but I don't appreciate having every single Presbyterian accused of something when my husband was one of many who voted against the liberal agenda.......

Well, looks like they've now got themselves a schizm in their church. Why have the gays been all over the media in the last couple weeks? I'm getting really sick of this gay-rights crap , and I don't want my daughter to be exposed to any of this behavior.
Maybe it's time to start FReeping these people. Anyone up for a good protest at that NY high school?

I wonder what Bishop Stanton (my Bishop) is going to do now. If he goes, I go.
But that is an empty threat because I cannot see living without my church of 30 years.

This is disgraceful....LEAVE NOW AND THE PERVERTS' SCHISM WILL FALL LIKE THE HOUSE OF CARDS IT HAS BECOME. And do it IN CHURCH for the rest of the congregation to see.
Go to church next Sunday and get up and walk out.
This man is so greedy he will watch the church destroyed for his own gratification.

I BEG ALL EPISCOPALS WHO ARE AS APALLED AS WE ARE...
LEAVE THE CHURCH NOW!!! FORM YOUR OWN
CHURCH OF THE MAJORITY. I SUGGEST YOU CALL IT THE
"AMERICAN ANGLICAN CHURCH", IN LINE WITH THE ENGLISH WHO HAVE REFUSED TO BRING THEIR OWN RELIGION INTO THE GUTTER OF HOMOSEXUAL DEPRAVITY.
If this repulsive immoral man were not gay--and left his wife and children to pursue adulterous affairs, he would never had a chance of becoming a bishop. This is disgraceful....LEAVE NOW AND THE PERVERTS' SCHISM WILL FALL LIKE THE HOUSE OF CARDS IT HAS BECOME.

Hi there....... I know - it is one of those hot-button issues right now and is definitely going to spread even more now that this vote went through....... damn it......

Remember there are several types of Bishops in ECUSA (Episcopal Church USA).
The ones that really matter are ordinary or diocesan bishops. They are the ones that lead dioceses.
There are several types of Assisting Bishops and Retired Bishops who also vote in the House of Bishops.
How many Diocesan Bishops voted against this blasphemy and how many are prepared to take action is the real question.

Episcopalians.......aren't they the same as the Unitarians, a psuedo-religeous liberal cult? To one raised in the Episcopal church -- that really hurts.
But it is clear; the church I grew up in is no more.

Look I appreciate your husband's voting direction....
..but you're continuing to stay in a church whose hierarchy is liberal beyond belief.
All due respect, but how can you justify this?
Aren't you constantly having to compromise?

The so-called investigation was a joke. I have a feeling more dirt will come out on this guy.
They should have adjourned without the vote and had a real in-depth investigation, but I guess they were determined to push this through.

I saw this "reverend" on the 700 Club being interviewed. Here is how he rationalizes this. I will paraphrase from memory:
At the time the Bible was written, lifestyles and civilization were different. In the ;ast 100 years or so, beliefs and civilization in general have changed. Homosexuality has become mainstream and acceptable.
There was plenty more, but that is the crux of it.
Excuse me. First off, the Bible is not the word of man, but the word of God. By saying what he said, he infers that God was wrong!! Not likely.
Secondly, this statement also infers that homosexuality was not widely known (or accepted) during all the generations that the Bible was written. Now it is. Again, a blatant falsehood. The reason it is mentioned in the Bible is precisely because man was involved in homosexuality back then and it was WRONG!! Now, history is just repeating itself.
The second coming is close at hand.
Welcome to the Episcopal cult!!

Does this mean BYE BYE for the Episcopal Church?
Why should it?
This is not, nor has it ever been Christ's church.
It will continue on.
Will there be a split?
I'm sure.
This is just one more step along the same path.
Same as it ever was.

The Catholic Church could make a trade; send the Episcopalians all their homo priests.
