Posted on the Live Thread.
Apparently CNN is reporting the conservative caucus bishops walked out and conducting a prayer vigil at a nearby Lutheran Church.
Maybe they'll hear the words of Brother Martin.
Here I stand. My conscience is captive by the Word of God. I can do no other. God Help me.

Glad I left 3 years ago when it was pretty evident this was the road they would be taking.
Unfortunately, the departure of many conservatives over the past two decades smoothed the way for today's travesty. I'm not blaming you, but that's the way it is.

I BEG ALL EPISCOPALS WHO ARE AS APALLED AS WE ARE...
LEAVE THE CHURCH NOW!!! FORM YOUR OWN
CHURCH OF THE MAJORITY. I SUGGEST YOU CALL IT THE
"AMERICAN ANGLICAN CHURCH", IN LINE WITH THE ENGLISH WHO HAVE REFUSED TO BRING THEIR OWN RELIGION INTO THE GUTTER OF HOMOSEXUAL DEPRAVITY.
If this repulsive immoral man were not gay--and left his wife and children to pursue adulterous affairs, he would never had a chance of becoming a bishop. This is disgraceful....LEAVE NOW AND THE PERVERTS' SCHISM WILL FALL LIKE THE HOUSE OF CARDS IT HAS BECOME.
To: xrp
They gain thousands of new gay members and lose what few God fearing members they have left.

I'll say it again: THIS IS ONE BISHOP WHO I DON'T WANT LAYING HANDS ON ME! (At least not without washing them first!)

The only real difference between the Anglican and Roman Churches is that Anglicans believe marriage is for mutual joy instead of procreation and the priests can marry. The Lord's prayer is recited slightly differently, but otherwise the liturgy is even the same. I know one Episcopal Bishop who is celibate and is also a Roman Catholic monk.

I read a great soundbite on another site: Clergymen are supposed to be fishers of men, not fishers of boys.

There has been a long and often close relationship between
the Anglican and Catholic Churches. In certain situations
there remains a mutual recognition of the validity of key
doctrines, liturgies, and practices. And the Catholic
Church continues to hold the faith and moral teachings as
taught by the Apostles.
I understand that there is also an
Anglican Use liturgy
within the Catholic Church, wherein the Book of Common Prayer
is used for the Mass (with minor updates). So there is no need
to lose the liturgy Anglicans may be familiar with.

I smell SCH ISM! The Schism is the depraved souls who have dragged the Church into the gutter. They must be left behind as the disgraced few by the majority who are clearly outraged by this despicable act.
Let this be the dawning of the AMERICAN ANGLICAN CHURCH.

I don't think God is very happy with the Episcopal Church right now. The expression, hate the sin and not the sinner, only goes so far. Morality takes another hit.

Do you think there's anyone out there thinking...Well, I wasn't going to break off from the Church, but since mongate813 said I should in BIG CAPITAL LATTERS - hmmm...the BIG CAPITAL LETTER argument is so convincing that I must now reconsider.
