Episcopal Church Ends Probe of Gay Bishop-Elect Tue August 5, 2003 01:58 PM ET MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - U.S. Episcopal leaders have ended an investigation of sexual misconduct allegations against the church's first openly gay bishop-elect, and will vote on his ratification later on Tuesday, the church's presiding bishop said. The allegations surfaced at the last minute on Monday as the bishops were set to ratify the Rev. Gene Robinson as bishop of New Hampshire and forced a delay in the vote.
The vote will now take place following a report on the investigation at 3:30 p.m. EDT, presiding Bishop Frank Griswold told the assembled bishops.

How about "Bishop Demands Investigation to Stop, Probing to Continue"?
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Sounds like a pretty "deep" investigation!

The Devil is laughing now. I guess the Episcopal Church is now the official "Church for those who don't really want to live as the Bible teaches"

Don't understand how the Episcopal church can have a queer as a leader in the church when he is living in sin, totally against the teachings of the Bible. How can any of them that support homosexuality, whether it be leadership and laymen, profess to teach the word of God and be believed? What is it--"do as I say and not as I do" type of philosophy? They're going to rewrite biblical teachings handed down through the centuries to acknowledge smooth over their sins. The word of God is as good today as it was when it was written centuries ago by inspired-word-of-God people.

We know God says in the Bible that it's wrong, an abomination, and all that but, Hey!, we're gonna go ahead and put this guy in charge anyway. We don't want to offend anyone.
This has GOT to be a sign of the end of civilization as we know it.

I say GOOD FOR HIM, seriously, well not for him, but for the process. I thought the last second charges against him were Hill-esque (as in Anita). I say the vote should go on as intended. If he is confirmed, then, if I was in that church, I would high-tail it out of there (no pun intended). Its about time this come to a head (again, no pun intended). I think many religions need to be exposed (for the last time, no pun intended.)
