His attempt to claim that she gave it up willingly AFTER he was charged and AFTER the DNA was confirmed doesn't make his story look too good. How would you know the case has '0- merit'? Calling the girl a 'ho' is kind of premature.Let's hear the evidence first.

I had to return the favor since your claim that celebrities don't do jail time gave all of us a laugh. Excluding Claudine might have given the impression that I was picking exclusively on men. Even Leona Helmsley did 21 months and there's still hope for Martha Stewart.

Interesting that Kobe has hired John and Patsey Ramseys Attorneys in Denver for this case with the supposed plethora of physical evidence in the hotel room..looks like a major league battle over circumstantial

And the scuttlebutt is that there is a state drugging evidence expert on the prosecution witness list according to Shelly Smith over at ESPN

Why would he say anything before he is charged? Oh, I had a afair with this girl everyone. I'd think he'd be quiet about it either way.

You are correct. He will be there until a more sensational story arrives. He might make up facts if no one is looking! Hehehehe!!!

I don't think anyone has a "serious disconnect with reality". All I said was that everyone is entitled to their opinion without being personally attacked. Many people are polarized on this case because he is a popular athlete. The story will only be finished when the trial is over.

I just think that personal attacks on this site are getting out of hand. I guess that makes people feel better, or more important, I don't know.

I agree.

If one analyzes the timing of the Kobe Bryant case, it has racial overtones.

It is just too perfect of a timing for me to believe the story.

Look at the case's timing and watch how the Democrats will play with Bryant's life in order to manipulate this issue to the benefit of their political candidates.

My view is that the actual case will not start until late 2003 with conclusion in 2004. This means that the "no justice no peace" crowd will have a new poster man (Bryant).

If they drag out the different leftist lawyer/talking heads on every newschannel, Gloria All-Red et al will be spouting "civil rights" talk points.

The only question in my mind centers on the political party affiliation of the prosecuting DA.

If he's a democrat, it will be very obvious that this story is really a tool of Presidential politics.

she went to a star's room. any jury is going to find that prima facia evidence of her desire to engage him in sex. sorry but unless the people are freaking stupid, that has to be the conclusion drawn when a man and a woman meet in a bar and she takes him up on a visit to the room.

it's not that complicated. No bruises, nothing more than hurt feelings for being pumped and dumped. I think I said shia law earlier. What I meant is Sharia law has it about right in these cases. The girl could very well be the problem here. She needs to stay of out bars and strange men's hotel rooms if she wants to remain chaste.

flame away.

One poster told me Rape was Kobe cheating on his wife, but I say of course that is what Kobe would go with when caught. Obviously his wife has to wonder then, how many times has he cheated? And criminals normally get caught , arrested, sentenced for what they have not done and get away with what they have done.

True the 19 year old could be seeing dollar signs, but from all I've read so far leads me to she said No, he's a bigshot and does not care. No is not an extra marital affair, it is Rape.

You say adultery, as if he couldn't rape. Wanted to share part of this with you:

Sports: Columnist Kevin B. Blackistone
Dallas Morning News

It is nice to want to think of superstar athletes like we would absolutely no one else. It is easy to do. We see them visiting children's hospitals during Christmas and dishing up vittles to the hungry and homeless at Thanksgiving.

We glance up in the rafters and see sections of seats they've set aside for kids who stay out of trouble and do well in school. We read that they've donated money to some charity or back to their schools.

Then we forget the message from the Sprite commercial that stars the Kobe Bryant we know: "Image is everything."

It is understandable that we want to think of superstar athletes so differently. It is our never-ending search for heroes, for supermen and superwomen. Where better to find them other than in the modern-day coliseum?

It would be nice if they could be found readily in every home, but the truth is they aren't. It would be great if they could be found easily in every classroom, but the truth is they aren't. It would be fantastic if they could be found standing behind every altar, but the hard-to-believe truth is they aren't.

So we shouldn't think they could be found simply on every basketball court, football field or ice rink, either.

It doesn't mean I know whether they beat their significant others or kick their dogs or run red lights routinely.

It doesn't mean you should place them on a pedestal for being anything more, necessarily, than among the best pro athletes there are.

It doesn't mean we know them.

Thanks for sharing that but you're wrong about my response to you. You asked the question "If it wasn't rape what could it be?" or similar wording. So I responded with "Adultery" because you eliminated rape from the possibilities. I certainly think he is capable of rape.

Kobe grew up with the NBA and his Dad. He lived in Italt while his Dad played and had a cushy life. I believe many sports idols feel they can just take what they want. I get really frustrated reading here that Kobe comitted adultery, just because he said so and not Rape, which no one here knows, only Kobe and this girl know.

Heck, R. Kelly here in Chicago has many sticking up for him and he married a minor.

Kobe has been into rap and has thug friends, here is the latest from Kobe, he wrote for Nas:

from the forthcoming album "Visions"

[Kobe] Uh
Uh huh
You know what this is
I'ma let 'em run around one more time
I drop sumpin' on y'all
It's like... it's like
What's it like?
My microphones and glock nines
Black? I'm dipped in that
The beats, my mash, jam you for the platinum you have
Run it, the illest, watch me become it
I'm here, and took it bowling, like straight to the wig
Speak truth like kids, tell you what you don't know
Kobe? Yeah, he's real with the flow
Kick in the do' wavin' the flow-flow
All you heard was stop, can't take the hits no more
Ha, didn't know I had your block on SWAT?
I'm CIA, y'all nuttin' but beat cops
I rock like my ma's mean, name is cocaine
Place you on my A-fiend list and pay you 'cane
Think you can handle? Not get stripped when you rock?
Think again, you find you lost your mind and judgement
My confidence, springs from watching y'all fall
Aw, forced to hustle, rap in charge
I'ma hop in your brain, tell you whatchu thinkin'
Yes, I am speakin', but I ain't writin'
So cold, I put the ice in nicest
You too broke to pay attention
My style is priceless

"the victims are always denigrated as "hoes" or "looking for it" and that is what exactly has happened in this case....

I suppose you think that Laci Peterson just killed herself for the notoriety as well..."

Madam, in this nation we are innocent until proven guilty and the burden of proof is on the accuser and the government. But in the modern workd where everyone bends over backward for the soccer mom vote, men are evil are guilty from the start. You obviously have no sons. If you did, you would not think this way.

And spare me the, my son would not do anything to get himself in this kind of trouble. All your son would have to do is have sex with a woman and she can accuse him of anything after.
