Um, seems a tad difficult to say, considering there was no physical evidence ANYONE had sex with her, let alone Mark Chmura.
Her story and the stories of her friends kept changing, and her demeanor on the stand undermined her credibility under cross examination.
Sorry, the case was weak. He's still an idiot, but there's no evidence to suggest a thing.

I was in Bryant's corner when this story broke, but no longer. Why not?
I am playing catch-up on the news in general, having been on the road for the past few weeks, but the first thing I thought when the Kobe story broke was, that chick is out to get herself a million or two. And ruin a man's career to boot.
I saw a snip of that press conference and he looked broken enough to me. Hell, I would be fairly broken at this point too.
The DA told the press that he has testimonial and physical evidence to prove his case "beyond a reasonable doubt". I'd have to hear the evidence before I change my views on this one.

Why not?For the reasons I laid out in that post and several other posts in the thread. I won't list them again but I will mention one more. The DA was super-reluctant to pursue this case, as we saw in the little power struggle that developed between him and the sheriff over the arrest warrant. The fact that a reluctant prosecutor felt compelled to take on a case which is destined for the full circus treatment by the media tells me that this girl is highly credible and that he has a good deal of evidence, some of which is probably still unknown to the public.

Fair enough.
My gut goes the other way on this one, though. Kobe will have his own private domestic hell for the adultery aspect, as he should, but the evidence for "sexual assault" (whatever that means, in this day and age) will have to be pretty damning in order for me to believe this chick.

"If no charges are filed, they face a HUGE lawsuit from Kobe"
This makes no sense to me. Please explain why the DA's office would face a lawsuit if they didn't file charges.

"Better this case than constant lies about Iraq."
The dems will say it's a VRWC to divert the media from Bush's "lies/failures."

He admitted adulty, so he knows they have DNA. He probably first denied he even had sex.
Now the question is, was there consent ?
He is a multi millionaire, he should have had is lawyers settle out of court. Like Michael Jackson did.
Now the Media will kill him and if found guilty, even if he get probation, he will be finished with the LA Lakers, the PR will just not go away. Can you imagine the after game interviews? Great play, but did you do it?

Why do the lawyers need 3 classes of rape? I would think there is either rape or there is not rape. If it's rape, prove it and throw the book at the criminal. Asking someone to your
#@$%%$ room is not rape. Crawling through a window or grabbing someone off a jogging trail is rape.
The lawyers showed themselves last night on MSNBC and the other media outlets that have become part of what would appear to be the full employment act for asshat lawyers.
Too many laws. Too many lawyers. To many policemen. Too many criminal courts. I really think the USA suffers because of this in so many ways. Lawyers have this society uptight and nervous. Thanks guys and girls. losers.

Dan abrams is the epitome of the asshat lawyer. Building the ingenious arguments for and against in a case that appears to have -0- merit.

You are wasting your time with these people. They obviously have never seen their mother, sister, wife or any other family member after they were beaten or raped. They find any athlete a hero, regardless. They are to be pitied.
Koby Bryant will have his day in court, with a jury, and then we'll see what the evidence shows. Meanwhile, we are all entitled to our opinions, including you and I.

Well, not technically, but I have seen myself in the mirror. Does that count? And it wasn't an athlete, btw. Bryant's occupation has nothing to do with it.

You and MotleyGirl70 must both have a serious disconnect with reality. No one has a problem with Motley's belief that Kobe is guilty, they have a problem with her statement that all men think they can abuse women. Her statement has NO basis in truth. She herself may have been abused and that's sad, but only a few scumbags think they can abuse women and get away with it. Rather than vent on this forum about how bad men are, she needs to talk to a therapist ASAP. Being hostile toward men in general will never bring her the happiness she deserves.
