Q One question for you both. Do you believe that there is a link between Saddam Hussein, a direct link, and the men who attacked on September the 11th?

THE PRESIDENT: I can't make that claim.

Fascists are what Lefties calls The Right. But, in fact, Fascists were LEFTIES too.

Fisk is a discredited moron. Since you don't know even that, you have less credibility than he does and he has none.

You're on the wrong forum, newbie. Either you're a masochist, or have some other form of mental problems.

President Clinton explains Iraq strike (FLASHBACK to 1998, worth reading)

This situation presents a clear and present danger to the stability of the Persian Gulf and the safety of people everywhere. The international community gave Saddam one last chance to resume cooperation with the weapons inspectors. Saddam has failed to seize the chance.

And so we had to act and act now.

Let me explain why.

First, without a strong inspection system, Iraq would be free to retain and begin to rebuild its chemical, biological and nuclear weapons programs in months, not years.

Second, if Saddam can crippled the weapons inspection system and get away with it, he would conclude that the international community -- led by the United States -- has simply lost its will. He will surmise that he has free rein to rebuild his arsenal of destruction, and someday -- make no mistake -- he will use it again as he has in the past.

Third, in halting our air strikes in November, I gave Saddam a chance, not a license. If we turn our backs on his defiance, the credibility of U.S. power as a check against Saddam will be destroyed. We will not only have allowed Saddam to shatter the inspection system that controls his weapons of mass destruction program; we also will have fatally undercut the fear of force that stops Saddam from acting to gain domination in the region.

That is why, on the unanimous recommendation of my national security team -- including the vice president, the secretary of defense, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, the secretary of state and the national security adviser -- I have ordered a strong, sustained series of air strikes against Iraq.

They are designed to degrade Saddam's capacity to develop and deliver weapons of mass destruction, and to degrade his ability to threaten his neighbors.

At the same time, we are delivering a powerful message to Saddam. If you act recklessly, you will pay a heavy price. We acted today because, in the judgment of my military advisers, a swift response would provide the most surprise and the least opportunity for Saddam to prepare.

If we had delayed for even a matter of days from Chairman Butler's report, we would have given Saddam more time to disperse his forces and protect his weapons.

Also, the Muslim holy month of Ramadan begins this weekend. For us to initiate military action during Ramadan would be profoundly offensive to the Muslim world and, therefore, would damage our relations with Arab countries and the progress we have made in the Middle East.

That is something we wanted very much to avoid without giving Iraq's a month's head start to prepare for potential action against it.

Finally, our allies, including Prime Minister Tony Blair of Great Britain, concurred that now is the time to strike. I hope Saddam will come into cooperation with the inspection system now and comply with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. But we have to be prepared that he will not, and we must deal with the very real danger he poses.

So we will pursue a long-term strategy to contain Iraq and its weapons of mass destruction and work toward the day when Iraq has a government worthy of its people.

Senator Sheets had this to say:

"The U.S. should strike, strike hard and strike decisively. In this instance, the administration needs to act sooner rather than later," Sen. Robert C. Byrd, West Virginia Democrat, said on Nov. 14, 1998.

Also there are some 2003 comments in this:

An Interview With Bill Clinton (long)

But I'm pretty sure this is the right thing to do. Press ahead with this thing, try to.... we knew when we did the bombing in '98 that we hit all the known or suspected sites based on the intelligence we had, from all the people that were doing that work there. we knew at the time that we had set his program back a couple years. But sooner or later in the millennium the new Administration, whether it was Gore's or Bush's, would have to take this matter up again.
Problem solving the Bill Clinton way, leave it for the next guy to have to deal with.

Bush is the one lying about the weapons program and threat that Saddam posed to us and our allies?

That depends. If he spells it "Irack" or talks about us bombing Iranian cities like Baghdad, then we have a clue that he writes for Brabra.

If he keeps up his denials in the face of defeat, then we have a clue that he writes for Baghdad Bob.

Okay, to be as fair as possible here, what sources do you accept, and what are your evidentiary standards? I will restrain myself to those sources in answering your question, so there can be no claim of "liberal bias".

Okay, that's it. That's all I'm tolerating from this intellectual prat.

I was prepared to give you a chance until you tried the Cute Debater's Trick of debating source validity instead of offering argument backed up by proofs. I know exactly where you are going, and don't intend to let you get away with it.

You have only assertion, and no argument. That is plain for all to see. You don't want to present and argue facts. You just want to drop a steaming turd in the middle of the road, claim you've been lied to, and run away.

This is the mark of the cheap poltroon, the intellectual House of Cards, the Hanging Ronald....

Put up or shut the hell up! Who lied to you? When were you lied to? How were you lied to? Give specific examples.

Saying so does not make it so.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

What proof do you have that Fisk, for example, lies?

Stop now before you TOTALLY discredit yourself.

"But, in fact, Fascists were LEFTIES too."

From a leftist agitprop bookseller (heavy into anarchy)

The Road To Fascism: The Rise Of Italian Fascism And Its Relation To Anarchism, Syndicalism And Socialism
GAMBONE, Larry

Red Lion
pam
ISBN: No ISBN
$2.00

An essay exploring the origins of fascism (while touching on National Socialism and other Latin forms), and its connections to the revolutionary Left - Mussolini, after all, translated Kropotkin into Italian, and the Nazis were the National Socialist German Workers Party.

And Mussolini's father was a rabid MARXIST, who brought his son up to be one too.

Isn't it strange how some keep attempting to rewrite history and cram one lie after another down others' throats ?

Kind of like waiting for the Mother May I from the UN, France and Germany et al all the while Saddam knows what is going to happen Bill?

Notice how the troll moved from "being lied to about Saddam and 9-11" to being "lied to about WMD", without presenting argument one to support any of his assertions?

At each point that a Freeper called him on his lies, he changed the subject, while failing to present evidence that would prove his assertion.

The closest he came was when he provided links to stories that have since been debunked up one side and down the other.

You'll notice, for example, that having made the point that Bush lied about the Niger story, he refuses to post an argument or a fact showing that Bush lied to him. Instead, he puts the onus on British intelligence to prove to him that they are not lying. In so doing, he neatly avoids the responsibility of having to post his own proofs.

This clown thought he could pull that bullsh*t here. Not a chance, and not with me.

Another cheap debater's trick from a practitioner of intellectual Three-Card Monte.

Present facts, prat, or get the hell out of Dodge!

Be Seeing You,

Chris

He's a troll, who plays fast & lose , can't debate, and has nothing but linked lies/lefty propaganda to use for " refutation ".

You are always SO magnificent, that he could not and did not even attempt to debate you. He can't. Many others, also gave him quite a what for too. LOL

Sad, but true ... lefties think we're idiots, when it's they who are.

I don't consider it a total loss. He has been confronted with articles (not opinion) to counter the talking points he's seen in the British press.

It may let him open his eyes that there is more to the story that they don't report.
