A village of completely self absorbed people trying to prove some idiotic point, ignoring all the good they receive from others, to ruin a society, yes.

Yes, so much good flows from the arms of government. Those ingrates have no appreciation of all the positive ways that bureaucrats can come into your home and make your lives better.

This reminds me of an old Twilight Zone episode;
It's the near future and the parents are very concerned about how their son is going to do on the government mandated intelligence test, which all children take at his age. The boy seems very bright and he tries to calm his parents by saying he'll do fine.
The day comes, and the first step of the test is that he is administered a drug that ensures he will answer every question to the best of his ability.
Cut to the parents at home several hours later - deeply concerned about their sons progress. The phone rings. They get a "vid message" as follows: "We regret to inform you that your son surpassed the maximum allowable intelligence factor. Where would you like the remains sent."

I can see your point but to boldly state "we will do with them as we see fit".....is over the line. Who's really in control here? The public school system is not doing its job and that is forcing more and more people to either home school their children or send them to a private school.
These schools have to be held accountable....which they are not. But to turn around and remove children from their home because of a test proves that liberals want to control every part of our lives. It's that we know what is best for people attitude.

Spoken like a true socialist. How, pray, can home-schooling ruin society? Oh, I forgot, you are a socialist and you are speaking of a socialist society. Yes, freedom can ruin such a society.

Give me a break Sarah, in any other circumstances they wouldn't WANT the kids to take the standardized tests because they'd ruin the curve and hurt all of the other childrens self esteem...
Its not about the benefits of society, its about CONTROL...
