This is the text of a letter and e-mail sent to the White house covering outsourcing. Please note it is not helpful to accuse the current administration of instituting these current policies and programs.
If the White House gets a hundred of these e-mails over the next couple of days then maybe we will start to get somewhere. If a thousand that is better 10,000 or 100,000 still better. Please take the time to adress these issues. If you are a conservative who somehow believes in the H1B and L1 visa programs then just address the government subsidies to overseas investment.

I believe that Bush knew all of this on the first day he assumed office, and have little hope that he will address these concerns.
I think it must be accepted as gospel in DC that "nerds don't vote".

Harpseal, that was an awesome letter and thanks for writing it and pinging me.
I'm beginning to see a real groundswell of anger about this situation. It's one thing to have massive layoffs of taxpaying Americans because of a business cycle, it's quite another to have wholesale shifts of American jobs to countries overseas. And to have an agency in the federal government that uses our money to help these corporations destroy lives to benefit their bottom line?
I will be sending President Bush an e-mail myself. I sincerely hope somebody in the administration takes notice of the sentiment out here before it's too late for them. It would be horrific to see another Bill Clinton in the White House because this issue was ignored.
To: harpseal
The White House probably has a dozen summer interns who filter out any e-mails not in synch with the Administration Policy. They don't count the opposition ... they only count the favorables.

Harpseal, this is a great letter! I will be e-mailing the White House myself tomorrow (working today). Thank you for putting this together. You did a really great job of stating our case.

harpseal,
Writing to GW Bush will do no good. There was a presidential campaign in 2000 ... there was even a candidate who spoke eloquently and forcefully on the immigration issue!
It wasn't Gore ...
It wasn't Bush ... and
It wasn't Nader. It was Pat Buchanan. But you supported Bush, didn't you, and now you want him to change? Good luck!
Now that I mentioned Pat Buchanan, I'll receive the usual ad hominem flames. Flamers! ... flame away.

A great letter, but it doesn't address the reason that Americans are having a hard time competing with foreign business and the reason, therefore that foreign products can undersell those produced in our country..
1. The plethora of environmental regulations that have made it nearly impossible for us here in America to take advantage of the abundance of natural resources that SHOULD be available right here in our own country.
2. Over-regulation by our own government, resulting in higher cost to Anerican producers.
These are the reasons for so many companies relocating out of the US, they are the reasons that foreign companies can produce for less, and therefore sell for less, and until we address these two situations, things will only get worse..

God bless you bro. for your service to our Republic in the past, and for it now.
You are hitting the nail on the head and are pointing out a critical part of the infrastructure that has been put in place to bring our Republic down...among many other portions of that infrastructure.
I will also write about these absolutely critical issues, not only to the President but to all of my reps.

Great letter.
In case you didn't know, it is very effective to cc: different newspaper editors on these letters so that they will get printed in various newspapers at the same time the president receives a copy. That way he will know the truth is spreading and will be more likely to responds.
Another method would be to cc: the head of the DNC(make sure the White House knows you are doing this) or any democrats(besides Hilary) that might be running for president. If they pick it up as an issue, maybe a real two-party dialog can begin on this issue.

Great letter.
I'm going to use it as a template for my letter to the White House.

Well said. I will send one tonight.

It's a worthwhile effort to state the obvious, but is anybody listening? I kind of doubt it.

This is very well, done, my friend. Even though I don't think that anyone is listening, I will freely and respectfully plagiarize much of what you've written. I will handwrite the results and mail it to the White House, as I understand that handwritten letters tend to get more than a passing notice.
The issues of NAFTA and its fallout, illegal immigration, unconstitutional gun laws and the continued expansion of government into every aspect of our lives are facts that trump any rhetoric, any promises, any posturing, any act of political expediency that emanates from our elected representatives. That's the bottom line. And that's why I'm searching for a reason not to sit out this next election.

I think that this sums it up. Call me cynical, but...
"The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods."

And oh yeah - I've been out of work for almost a year now. Working at getting three separate business ventures off the ground, but I c an tell you that the type of work that I used to do is gone, gone, gone along wit the six-figure salary that it used to pay. I saw 350 jobs disappear from a lova lsoftware support and solutions provider. Why? Because Microsoft outsourced those jobs offshore to India - that's why.
