The majority of DemocRATs are playing to their very liberal base according to the AP article above. They are very anti-Bush and anything the President accomplishes. Believe the DemocRATs are best summed up by the comments near the end of the article:

Republican National Committee spokesman Jim Dyke dismissed the Democrats' criticism of the president. "The best that the Democrats have to put forward to Americans is to hope for the worst for America," he said. "As an election strategy, we're not sure that people will appreciate that."

That describes today's Clinton DemocRATs perfectly!

He is not pandering to homosexuals. Civility is not pandering. The entire religious right is not angry : only a few wingnuts are. The Patriot Act does NOT give unlimited power to the government.
