Thanks for the flag.
Simpson writes, "Iraq is chaotic to the point of street-level anarchy
I could make the same point about parts of many cities in this country.

The lawlessness in Bagdad is no more eventful than the one riot per decade festivals in L.A. and have been short lived.
The press/media, international agenda artists, must make America the villian while their own human rights records are a shame and a disgrace.

Thank you, Linda. Great read, indeed. A poet who sees the light and is given space in the public square. Beautiful.
Mark Steyn went to Iraq for his "vacation"...a patriot and a writer:
Mark Steyn: Come on over the water's lovely
The Sunday Telegraph (U.K.) ^| 06/01/03 | Mark Steyn
....And that underpopulated border camp is a fine motif for what's going on: vast numbers of bureaucrats are running around Iraq with unlimited budgets in search of a human catastrophe that doesn't exist.
...NGO armies in their brand new, gleaming white Chevy Suburbans and Land Rovers cruising the streets touting for business like drug pushers in search of junkies.
....I found rather more hostility towards the WFP, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees et al than towards the military. "Americans only in the sky," one man told me, grinning as a chopper rumbled overhead. "No problem." Down on the ground, meanwhile, the new imperial class are the NGOs. They shuttle across the globe, mingling with their own kind - other SUV users - and bringing with them the values of the mother country, or the mother bureaucracy.
...These days, I always laugh my head off at BBC World reports. And, in that Ramadi cafe, I was touched to find that, even though most of them hadn't a clue what he was going on about, within half a minute, the rest of the crowd was roaring along with me.

Iraq's liberation was brought about, Nasir wrote with deep gratitude, "by young men and women who came from the other side of the world -- from California and Wyoming, from New York, Glasgow, London, Sydney and Gdansk to risk their lives, and for some to die, so that my people can live in dignity." I think he left out the most important region for heroic soldiers and that is the American south. Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia and all the other states who have sons and daughters in the military. New York City would be my last choice to harbor patriotic soldiers....

Nasir ended his letter, "In the meantime Jacques Chirac, (Russian President) Vladimir Putin, (UN Secretary-General) Kofi Annan and others have no authority to speak on behalf of my people."
Well said.

Mr. Nasir, we were glad to free your nation and appreciate your thanks. May God bless the United States, her allies, and the people of Iraq.

Lastly, in the spirit of Nasir's letter, it might well be said that the least worthy to speak for Iraqis are Arab-Muslim community leaders, Excellent statement. Add to that 'and sappy antiamerican liberals.'
